They're great and still fun to ride on the rode even with knobbies. The only critique is highway performance which is to be expected from a 250 with dirt gearing but it will still pick up and go at 6000rpm.

Still too snowy/ muddy and wet here for riding.
DT 400 is the machine. best trail and mountain bikes ever made I believe. No new thumper can compare really.

Just so you know, buddy, if your crotch rocket breaks down and needs to be towed, the towtruck ain't gonna give you a lift. They've stopped shuttling passengers during the pandemic. If you get stranded you're gonna need a Lyft or Uber, a taxi, or a ride from a friend/family.
Motorcyclists are getting fucked by this change in protocol. I don't like it, because I like bikers, many of my friends are bikers, the last thing I wanna do is leave a biker stranded. I have gone out of my way on numerous occasions to use the little tricks I know to assure I can get a motorcyclist home safe. I mean we're talking some heroic measures that would get me reprimanded if I didn't phrase my words very carefully for plausible deniability. But these past couple weeks I've had to tell five different bikers that they'd be left standing at the side of the freeway and they'd have to make their own arrangements and there was nothing I could do.
It feels bad, man.

Hey, on that note, let me tell my fellow Ameribros who ride one of the little tricks of the trade. Say you need your back towed because you can't ride it, because, say, you don't have your gear, or you just had some surgery and can't operate it, or anything like that.
There's nothing mechanically wrong with the bike, you just can't ride it, you dig? If you call your roadside hotline and they say the tow won't be covered, because the service is to recover immobilized vehicles, not to transport mechanically intact vehicles, don't lose your shit and start cursing him out.
Instead say "Okay, I understand, bue." take your key, press it against the valve stem and let the air out the tire, and then call back in. Tell the next customer service agent "I need a tow, my bike has a flat tire, yeah, I dunno, I came out and it was just like that." Now you're covered! We'll take you home and you can use your air compressor to inflate it again, and you beat the system.
You win, I win, the guy who we pay to load it and move it wins, everybody wins. Except my shitty employer, and fuck them, they're assholes. Let them lose some money, I ain't gonna be downsized, I'm good at my job. Maybe they'll finally dump Laquisha and Sherima, I'm tired of cleaning up their messes when they fuck up a service call.
