The US is also a dumb nigger country these days. It has no value to South Korea because there isn't any technology that can be transferred anymore. The US had to export its entire memory industry to SK to keep them vassalized and the Koreans quite frankly have nothing left to gain from us, especially now that the US is trying to claw back revenue with tariffs. You don't understand. Removing us forces from the peninsula is the first milestone in seperating the south from the west. The hope is that eventually the west completely abandons south korea which cannot survive on its own. It's hoped that over the next few decades the south stagnates enough without western support that the north with the chinese can take them without consequence. The current president of sk is a communist sympathizer who wants to accelerate the process.

kim wants reunification but that seems very unlikely to me. South Korea doesn't share the extreme propaganda about their god king history. While most Koreans probably do want reunification, i don't think they agree on what that actually means.

We've also been silently pulling away from Japan while they slowly dismantle the banning of a military. All this is really shaping up to another interesting showdown. U.S. backing Japan, China backing N. Korea and the odd man out here is S. Korea in a no win situation.
