His message has been entirely lost in the current political content. Instead of being judged on the content of their character rather than the color of their skin, BLM and other marxist ideologues have become obsessed with the idea that race is everything. Privilege lurks around every corner, like a phantom boogeyman.

He was investigated by the FBI for his close ties to communists. Many of the people in his organization were in contact with the USSR. Apparently they wanted to inflame racial tensions in the USA so they were supporting black movements like this.
The FBI placed bugs in his hotel room, and they learned what he was doing when he wasn't giving speeches. Having massive orgies with all his followers, fucking prostitutes, and basically acting like the nigger he is. He also plagiarized his college thesis, and almost all of his papers (some university ran his speeches through an analysis, if they had done a deeper analysis they doubtless would have found much more plagiarism, but they didn't). All of his speeches were written by other people, including his famous "I have a dream" speech.
The FBI sent him a strongly worded letter (that's an understatement) suggesting that he kill himself if he doesn't want the information about his adultery to go public. Today this is public record, released through the Freedom of Information Act. Yes, it's real, this happened.
His religious beliefs were really insane also. He denied the virgin birth of jesus, and had all sorts of really wacky and non-doctrinal ideas. He was not a "reverend" by any stretch of the imagination. He was just playing this religious character, because America was a religious nation at the time and you needed someone with that aspect to them to carry your message.
Who assassinated him? Well notice it wasn't just him that was assassinated, lots of people were dropping like flies during those times. JFK, Bobby Kennedy, John Lennon, Malcom X, the list goes on and on. I highly suspect these assassinations were coordinated by one or more intelligence agencies. Probably the FBI or CIA, since these movements and these leaders were fracturing the USA, and potentially serving the interest of the USSR
