Is it time to talk about stricter gun control in Canada, recent events considered?
Many people look at Canada as a country with tight gun control, but the truth is much different. It doesn't take much to buy unrestricted fully semi-automatic assault rifles like the M1, which is capable of just as much damage as other assault weapons like the AR15 or AK47. Why does any Canadian need access to guns like these? Shooting paper cannot be more important than the lives endangered and impacted by gun violence every day in this country.
I am a conservative and I hate Trudeau as much as everyone else, but one thing the Liberals get right is their stance on guns. Why should anyone need a gun in their home? Why can't you store your gun at a police station? Why should there be such open access to rifles and handguns, which are often just trafficked to or stolen by criminals? There's no real justification for it, and I'm glad Trudeau will be moving forward in the fall with a blanket ban on most guns.
Gun control is one of the few things that people justify the failures of for there being insufficient amounts of it. Keep doing the same thing over and over again and expect different results like the dumbass you are. Gun control laws do not stop homicides.

It's a moot point to ban weapons. They are the equalizer. And the minute that you ban them, the odds tip in the favour of criminals. Arm everyone mentally capable. Train them how to handle and respect firearms.

This. We have very tight gun laws and every few years they take away more and more. They have let slip many times they want all guns banned. They fear people stopping their commie bs.
