I asked him for a rent reduction since I lost my income to corona-chan, and what amount he thinks is fair, then he gives me this response. Over the last several years I've always paid my rent on time.
Do you think it's right for landlords to be taking a tough stance on full rent payment? Some shared sacrifice seems more reasonable.
Oh and the mistake he's apologizing for is him asking for $1.29 more from March 2020 rent he thought I underpaid for.
Mason Sanchez
let his bitch ass find a new tenant in this market llol
Michael Russell
You owe what you owe. Just because you expect to live for free doesn't make it reality. He's offering you a very generous deferment. If you failed to save for hard times while you were working then it's on you. No one owes you anything. Plus, you'll be eligible for CERB, so there's $2,000 a month straight up right there. You need to grow up.
Zachary Rodriguez
He seems reasonable. If I’m being honest. I vilify landlords, but his language, demeanor, and actions in this email seem reasonable.
Jace Ross
He seems very fair giving you a deferment. That’s generous and not required of him at all
Luke Hernandez
you're dumb man
Joshua Diaz
the money you're paying to him goes to pay *your* utilities, *your* insurance, and probably the mortgage for the house *you* live in. very fair
Isaiah Myers
Just stop being poor, faggot. Pay your dues.
Zachary Flores
God. Why couldn't you be one of the leafs that got slotted by that larping cop. You made a deal probably should be working instead of whinging on an imageboard. Hell just claim to be some sort of minority and I am sure your fag government will just hand you cash.
Evan Taylor
dude actually sounds pretty chill
Ryan Anderson
The landlord is deferring youre rent you ungrateful fucking tumor, what more fo you want? Him to go under so an American vulture fund can acquire the building? I actually hope that happens. Lol, you'll have a fucking reason to whine then, canuck.
Lucas Reed
>Some shared sacrifice seems more reasonable Ok how about you get to stay in the house, but water power and sewer is disconnected.
Gavin Sanders
He is. But ge made the carnal mistake of dealing with an average Canadian. I'm sure he'll learn the error of his ways and fuck that useless shitbag out on his fat ass
Elijah Miller
Take off the colored glasses, user. I am not who you think I am. I understand the work necessary for survival and gladly share the burden. That said, people are trapped in the system and exploitation, unfairness, shared sacrifice are real ideas. The present value of the deferment is a few dollars. Doesn't seem "very generous" to me. Thanks for the input anyway. The classic fulfill-your-agreements-no-matter-what perspective.
Mason Evans
>people are trapped in the system and exploitation, unfairness, shared sacrifice are real ideas. LOL. Who the fuck talks like that? I guess you must be edumacated. Explains your misspelling of "coloured."
> The classic fulfill-your-agreements-no-matter-what perspective. Because that is what men do.
Welcome to the new age, snowflake.
Owen Brooks
Pretty reasonable, the world doesnt revolve around you. Renting has always been a less stable situation, and renters agree to that. Deluding yourself into thinking its just like owning property leaves you actually being surprised that people arent going to fund your living expenses. If you have a real problem with this, petition banks and utilities to ease their bills. Why should it stop at helping renters?
Luis Taylor
Indeed, there's goodness in the integrity of upholding your commitments/agreements. Which is why I have always paid my rent on time, on value.
But only fools walk blindly on blanket heuristics. Which is why I question the goodness of an exception during these extraordinary times. It is a month-to-month contract after all, and I have the right to negotiate.
Jaxon Bailey
What part of "deferment" are you not grasping you fucking spastic???
Jaxon Williams
I'm a landlord and he's a moron. He's never going to find another tenant now and should be cutting anything he reasonably can to keep you from moving. This is a transaction subject to market forces. Most landlords are totally clueless about this.
Jaxson Cruz
And your utility bills, do they magically pay themselves in this larp?
Jeremiah Nelson
Mortgages are being put on hold if you apply for it. This landlord is a possible liar
Nathan Lewis
He is delaying payment that is pretty nice of him. My landlord is being chill about this, but still demanding on time payments but is willing to talk to people who are struggling financially. As long as you aren't a rent striking nigger you should be fine.
I don't think I'm the type of person who will zero-communication rent strike. That's definitely on the slippery slope to Mao's vicious student army.
Daniel Harris
Hes being good to you.
Evan Mitchell
Why doesnt the landlord have savings for a rainy day?
Kevin Murphy
Bro I lost my job of 6 years after I hurt MYSELF, and failed a drug test. I ate a weed brownie a week prior. Point is, life is cruel. Some trees grow tall some die, some sheep grow old some get taken by wolves, some men are born rich enough and dumb enough to enjoy it. Life is not fair, you know that.
If the government says I don't have to pay my rent, and Canadian citizens have agreed to follow the government, then by fulfill-your-agreements-no-matter-what logic then the landlord must accept his tenants not paying any rent.
Hunter Lopez
So he's a Jew then. He understand Jewry. Save this email, print out copies. Have them notarized if you have to. You don't have to pay rent. If you stiff him and move out, he can't charge you interest. You have this letter.
Angel Wood
if you lost your job due to virus, just don't pay rent until you get your job again. do not pay rent for months you weren't working. landlords are just hoping everyone is a cuck who will become their slaves. it's why they got into landlording in the first place. just learn your rights and no court will evict you.
Benjamin Long
Exterminate lolbergtarians that think paying out the ass to jew rentlords so they can sell your country to chinks is a good thing
Gotta agree with the majority on this one. It's every man for himself right now. If that other guy is trying to do anything to help you at all, he's doing more than what he's required to do.... which is save himself. That guy is the only friend you got right now.
The scumfuck employer who threw you over the side without a life jacket, that's another story. Aim your anger in the proper directions is what I'm saying.
Grayson Gonzalez
You might have fooled your landlord with that horseshit but you're nothing to me, boy. I encourage all loyal board members to let your landlord know what you think of his offer. Perhaps he will reconsider not charging interest.
