I asked him for a rent reduction since I lost my income to corona-chan, and what amount he thinks is fair, then he gives me this response. Over the last several years I've always paid my rent on time.
Do you think it's right for landlords to be taking a tough stance on full rent payment? Some shared sacrifice seems more reasonable.
Oh and the mistake he's apologizing for is him asking for $1.29 more from March 2020 rent he thought I underpaid for.

You owe what you owe. Just because you expect to live for free doesn't make it reality. He's offering you a very generous deferment. If you failed to save for hard times while you were working then it's on you. No one owes you anything. Plus, you'll be eligible for CERB, so there's $2,000 a month straight up right there. You need to grow up.

He seems reasonable. If I’m being honest. I vilify landlords, but his language, demeanor, and actions in this email seem reasonable.

He seems very fair giving you a deferment. That’s generous and not required of him at all
