What would it take for you to believe that a new, highly contagious respiratory disease emerged from a wet market, had an R0 and CFR combo high enough to place severe stress on global health infrastructure, that both private and public institutions instituted a wide series of lockdowns in the interest of public health, and that an honest attempt at counting both lab confirmed and probable deaths revealed a global toll of >100,000 in a little over four months?
I'm not asking because I want to debate whether Coronavirus is real; I'm genuinely curious. The possibility that the narrative outlined above is correct seems to have been discounted by most deniers from the get-go and now I want to know what your criteria for believing a narrative actually is. Or do you automatically reject mainstream narratives no matter what they are, on the grounds that they are a mainstream narrative?
Those numbers are moderate, not panic level though. 100,000 deaths worldwide over 4 months and no collapse on western medical systems. It's not nothing, but the counter measures are overblown.

If it were up to me people like you would be genocided

Yes, the Chinese Virus is truly horrible and the people responsible for the spread should be punished.
Jaxon King
Why don't I believe it? Because it has the attention and concern of people like you.
Hudson Collins
Appreciate the input, but I really am looking for the opinions of people who believe there is literally no new virus, or that if there is its global death toll is in the 3 digits, and everything else is history's biggest scam.
Julian Ortiz
So 5G tower should be punish?
Nathaniel Sanchez
Great question. Someone posted on pol early on about there being a lab in Wuhan also I'm sure I don't speak for myself when I say I reject the cable news narratives always because 95% of it is not accurate. Also people from Tawain had posted some papers early early on saying it was a bioweapon with AIDS injections so we don't know the long term of the disease. Never forget Will Sommer and fake journalists piled on zero hedge who was banned off of twitter for sharing the research this was a bioweapon at the end of February
William Cook
Well for one there is the CDC directive to extremely loosely label deaths as “from” bat AIDS. It doesn’t even require a positive Covid-19 test in many cases.
Dylan Jones
Additionally, the flu and respiratory infections have proven to be deadly in the past, almost like it happens every year or so around the same time. So what EXACTLY makes this thing any different?
Isaac Rogers
But the question was, what would it take for you to believe that policy, among others, was done for the reasons the CDC claims and is as accurate as the medical community claims? I understand why you don't believe, but what *would* you have believed?
Joseph Powell
Finally, I’m not entirely convinced that these private and public lockdowns are actually in the interests of the public health. It doesn’t seem to be doing much but stressing our supply chain and obliterating local economy and job markets
Noah Cooper
100k deaths in four months frankly isn’t serious on a global scale of 8 billion. We lose 24k people per DAY to starvation and I don’t see anyone losing sleep over that. Those are mostly kids not elderly.
Anthony Scott
Yeah a global depression is likely to kill tens to hundreds of millions once the west pulls back any foreign aid to the third world. Not to mention all of the areas of the world that will descend into absolute war and anarchy once militaries are pulled back to the homeland.
Brandon Long
why are you posting like this why did you feel the need to make 3 different posts
Juan Bailey
I would have believed a common sense approach. Say for instance we instituted a recommended isolation guideline which identifies people at risk of dying from Chink AIDS. Then once we have these people identified, government could use these endless piles of money to take care of their day-to-day needs instead of nuking working class people (thanks again, Weimarica)
Nolan Wood
Exactly there are on average 3000 deaths from non flu pneumonia weekly from about October through May every single year.
Evan Edwards
These type of dataminers are fucking creepy >I just want to know how you think And there’s always this >i’m harmless 300 Iq vibe i’m your fren Fuck off glowie
Jacob Long
Why are you, a total nigger, offering nothing to this thread? Am I bumping your BBC thread off page 1 or something?
Ayden Gomez
It could literally be the common cold and nobody would know the difference
Ryan Perez
This. OP is a fucking blockhead
Juan Brooks
Per the original question, what would have made you believe that number is as serious as the global medical community claims it is?
Would you need to have known an epidemiologist personally? Would you need to have seen a black-friday like stampede at a hospital?
You would have *agreed with* a common sense approach. Are you saying you will only believe the data behind a policy response if the policy response accords with your layman intuition?
Yes, I, an employee of some of the most powerful agencies in human history, have no more sophisticated methods in play than to just straight up ask conspiracy theorists, and there is no reason to assume I might just be a curious autist.
Luke Foster
What would it take to accept global takeover so we can try again
Aaron Turner
You seem like a typical appeal-to-authority retard and completely ignored any of my points
James White
OP, what would it take for you to believe that the Coronavirus scare is a hoax?
Lucas Reyes
Agreed. 100k is meme tier. AIDS kills over 5 times that every year but it's mostly niggers so no one cares. Suddenly it's whacking granny in the long term care that you visit once a year and we have to shut down everything.
Robert Hughes
Maybe thats a good way to phrase this question. What would it take for you to accept the word of institutional medical authority? I'll absolutely plead guilty to being an appeal-to-authority retard on specialized subjects I'm not trained in, and I'm curious not so much why others aren't but what stops them from being that way.
Well, since I'm not a scientist, I can only defer to the opinion of the scientific community. When a significant proportion of the scientific community claims it was a hoax, I'll believe it was a hoax.
Cooper Edwards
>in the interest of public health >in the interest of fat, sedentary, boomers ftfy
Because bilateral interstitial pneumonia is fucking rare outside of Corona-Chan. Just google the term and see how many pre-2020 articles come up. If you see that on CT scan the probability of dealing with Corona-Chan is very high, so no use obsessing over tests.
Colton Sanders
It's like that old line about pornography. I know what it'd take for me to believe it's like the media says *when I see it*. It's not just one thing. It's not limited to, but does include "black friday hospital stampedes" though, and many many other, smaller "tells".
Justin Nelson
I'd have to see the bodies.
Michael Flores
Now this is what I was looking for! I guess that makes sense, from a certain perspective.
Aiden Taylor
>Yes, I, an employee of some of the most powerful agencies in human history, have no more sophisticated methods in play than to just straight up ask conspiracy theorists, and there is no reason to assume I might just be a curious autist. user... you’re very bad at this
Nolan Nguyen
Do you outsource all of your opinions to other people? What are some signs that would make you inclined to believe that coronavirus is a hoax?
