In my experience white folks have been a lot shittier to me than blacks. When black folks do something awful there is a rhyme and reason to it, whether it to be to feed themselves or to settle a quarrel in an honorable way whereas with white folks it's like taken to another level. That's not correct. The Knights of Malta are part of the same larger community as Freemasons.

Early in his tenure, Pope Francis relaxed the Churches stringent views on prophylactics. The Knights of Malta organized a coup because of this (in concordance with The Freemasons). Francis subsequently fired the head of The Knights of Malta which, in turn, began the current invisible war for the Vatican.
A key component of the war is public opinion. Therefore, John and Jane Smith won't understand why anyone would want to take down the Pope and would push back against them.

His authority to do so is debatable, as the Knights have a high degree of autonomy separate from the Vatican, but the Grand Master abdicated none the less.
