Any job can have shit hours. I service process equipment in various production facilities. I work 8-4; pretty standard. But the places we go operate 24/7, so any barely-employable no-skilled fuck up can be working a process line (not for long; it’s all being automated).
My first job was 11pm to 7am. Basically when you get home at that time you’re wound up from work, so you eat and stay up for a while. But your fighting natural circadian rhythm, so by about 9am you’re completely exhausted. So you go to sleep for 10 hours, maybe a little longer. You wake up and have to leave for work in 3 hours, so there’s not much time to do anything.
No one ever gets used to it. We’re all human, and all have the same internal clock. No one will ever get home at 7am, shower, eat, and sleep for 8 hours. Nor will they come home from work at that time and be awake and alert for 6, while they go to the grocery, gym, do laundry, and so on.
