Those countries have cultures that are basically poor dangerous versions of Spain. The only countries with a semi native American culture are maybe Peru and Bolivia and that's mainly just because of how undiluted their native genes are.
The Spanish were out for one thing, gold, and wealth, nothing more. They weren't in the game of conquest and expansionism. Just like how the Portuguese weren't in that game as well, all they cared about was working the sugar / slave trade.
It wasn't so much the spanish were trying to influence colonialism, they were just there for a long ass time, long enough for their influence to be adopted.
