The people who are going to die of corona are going to die whether we open or not. A certain percentage of people will get the virus eventually. The ONLY rationale for locking anything down would be to keep hospitals from overflowing. That doesn't look likely to happen under any scenario anymore. Also it's easier for sensitive groups to avoid getting COVID if the worst of the infestation is over and done with quickly which would happen under opening up.
