Do you pull the lever, Yas Forums?

And is this a good analogy for student loan forgiveness? Why or why not?

Student loan forgiveness fucks those who couldn't afford to not work the hardest, they should be on the other track. This is a rich kid problem and I don't care.

You took out a loan
Pay it back

KILL THEM ALL

I really don't care either way

I'm going to post it.

It's a bad analogy because the people the trolley has killed are already dead and incapable of feeling fucked over, as opposed to somebody who works hard to pay off a huge debt that everybody else gets waived

no, it is not a good analogy. making the decision to go to college to only study what you want to study when the only way you can afford it is with debt is not equivalent to tying yourself to train tracks, knowing a trolley will come and knowing that you cannot untie yourself, get up and walk away. you're welcome, leaf.

No, because you are stealing the money from the ones who have died already to pay the students loans of the ones still tied to the tracks.

If they were advocating for student loans to be forgiven and the banks to foot the bill, you'd have the support of literally everyone.
Instead, you're advocating for people already ground down and impoverished to foot the bill for people that actively hate them and celebrate their poverty (while also claiming to be for 'the workers').
>muh Bernie says billionaires shouldn't exist!
Yeah but he never talks about trillionaires, does he?

We should get rid of government backed loans. If banks had to be worried about you not paying them back then they wouldn't loan you $100,000 for a gender studies degree

what have they done for me? why would I inconvenience myself with pulling the lever?
the world is a cruel place, the lever could of been touched by a corona victim.

My thinking is that the analogy only doesn't work because it doesn't account for the fact that pulling the lever generates incentive for people to tie themselves to the track more.

>making the decision to go to college
What 16 year old is ready to make a life-changing decision like that, especially when flunking out of college means debt and few job prospects?

levers oppress my freedom, abolish trolley memes

This is a really good point. The actual dead can't be punished but those who paid off their student loan can

No.
Better analogy would be the whole country having their feet on the other track, with the rest of their bodies safe.

It would make more sense to not lay on the tracks. There is no fixing the education system without starting over from scratch. The corruption goes from bottom to top.

This is literally the boomer trolley problem.

It is a poor analogy because the people all chose to lay on the track and now the people laying on the track fully depend on people already run over to divert it.

Loan forgiveness is stupid because the problem is run away tuition costs and predatory loans. Make the loans vulnerable to bankruptcy and allow banks to put similar roi expectations to be documented as if it were a business loan. Then kids would not go $300k into debt for art school and spend $80k of it on a car.

there's no such thing as forgiveness. It's called passing the cost to the tax payer for stupid kids that weren't honest with themselves when they spent 100k to get a degree in women's studies The banks don't just eat the cost of defaulting loans, they will take the money from their customers in the form of taxes/fees/lowered interest rates, ect.

>Old enough to transition
>BUT NOT OLD ENOUGH TO DECIDE WHAT TO DO AT SCHOOL

If one is okd enough to chop off their dicks for major debt one is also old enough to wreck their career prospects for major debt. Cant have your cake and eat it too you disengenuous libtard.

Honestly it would fuck investors over the most if you just cancelled the debts
Investors run our economy

No of course not. The only people who can't pay off their student loans are people in meme majors, and they deserve every ounce of suffering they get for their retarded choices. I support the eventual implementation of free college but not without a massive overhaul of the universities' scope and purpose.

>taking out student loans
>rich kid problem
that’s a funny one m8

Wouldn't the guy at the switch also be run over by the trolly? How would he switch the lever after already being crushed. We'd have to let them be crushed, but we should warn the children not to tie themselves to the train tracks in the future.

I am fully against loan forgiveness because I know tons of black coworkers that take out student loans while working for gov to get federal loan forgiveness but they only take one class, drop out, and spend it all on luxury shit and cars. Fuck that. What they purchase must be necessary for school and right now it’s just another redistribution system reaching into my pockets and giving to shameless wasteful selfish niggers.

I will never vote to expand that abuse.

*Disingenuous
Also for thousands of years teenagers have been capable of making shitty decisions and living with the consequences, this continued coddling is what has led to this plague of manchildren who dont know how to live even in their fucking late twenties.

>And is this a good analogy for student loan forgiveness?
No. In the pic the people about to be killed are not asking that those that have already been killed be killed again (obviously) so that they will not be killed.

The analogy fails because you the person who is not paying back the loan is asking other people to pay the loan - we presume those that have paid back their loans or who did not take out loans (perhaps did not go to school).

Fuck you. I didn't take any loans, and I'm not rich OR A BOOMER.
Also burn the colleges to the fucking ground (in minecraft). They're useless.

The other track should have 10,000x more people on it, but just their legs and they should be their by government force. The people on the first track should be there willingly. That would be a good analogy

That depends

Attached: 1474063462445.png (506x629, 1.22M)

but that's wrong, you retard. you can go to college any time. and you can leverage the education if you are capable of a real discipline, in STEM.

Advocates for loan forgiveness instead of just free college in the future are hypocrites, literally admitting with their own shitty analogy they dont want to be one of the already dead on the track but insist others take that place so that they can benefit for none of the sacrifice because they are not willing to sacrifice anything due to sheer greed and lack of empathy for their fellow man who might not want to go to college.

>Implying it is good that 16 year olds are allowed to cut off their dicks
>muh bootstraps
Fuck off faggot, you belong on Reddit

Nah how about you stay in your shithole country with your shithole opinions and shithole life and leave america the fuck alone, no one here gives a fuck about some meme flag's opinion you literally matter less in the grand scheme of things than any obese walmart cart shitter, dwell on that.

>why not?
because those who did pay are not dead
