I've made it for shits before because I make all kinds of music. It is by far the easiest music to make. Anyone can download a drumbeat, instrumental and write words. Making it high quality obviously takes a bit of practice but it's nowhere near as difficult to make as other types of music. Even blues requires you to know how to play an instrument and the basics of playing over chords. Writing blues is piss easy but hip-hop is borderline effortless for any real musician.

Honestly I like some of the beats and the rhythm, but holy shit lyrically I cannot see how this shit is so popular. Can not relate unless your an absolute degenerate. Makes me sad that teens and young college kids actually glorify the lifestyles most songs of this genre promote.

I like it in the moment, but it doesn’t age well. I imagine the emo/rap stuff of the last couple of years will age better, just because it has more of a musical influence. Can’t help but feel they are paid to mention all these brands though

That's not rap. That's R&B. Early rap could be positive and fun (kid n play, nice n smooth, Rob base) or positive and socially/politically conscious (BDP, Eric b, ice - t, public enemy). That stuff was good. Then nwa took over everything and ruined it. SOC was a great album, but as a subculture, it ruined black ppl for generations
