Made in the USA always means quality. The only time I ever had something "defective" was a desk lamp I bought that would tip over. I looked at the bottom and found out it was actually Taiwanese, intentionally mislabeled with a fraudulent sticker.
One interesting thing, a few things I own made in Russia (optics manly) are really nicely made!
