San Fran has graded every child an "A" because of pandemic

Goes to show that they don't value education at all. They're just going to push the kids along to the next grade and it's not going to make a difference in their performance because the material is garbage and doesn't engage kids at all, and is dumbed down and replaced with "participation" so that the scores don't reflect its true useless nature.

Not attempting to teach the kids even a little bit, just deleting this chunk of their education forever, is the ultimate admission that public school has no purpose except conformity.

Homeschooling is better with things like sports added so the kids don't end up unable to socialize. Is there a breakdown between races on homeschooling? I'm sure its primarily whites that homeschool which most likely contributes to scores being higher as well. Spics and niggers would weigh public schools down.

homeschooling is heavily white but black homeschool numbers are rising. black homeschooled students outscore white public school students in ever subject to the point that they are 1 grade level ahead of public school students in math and english in the same year. homeschooled kids also dont have any socialization problems, its a total myth. there has been 2 studies proving homeschoolers have more self confidence and less social disorders than public schoolers. ill grab those right now

My mom is a high school teacher and even when the virus wasn't pandemic, she's been told to minimize failing grades. There's a big reason for this that is financial: in her school district, probably most, they get funding based on metrics of how many students graduated high school, among other things. So less graduates equals less money. Plus, it makes the school look more prestigious and less like an overrun barrio/ghetto shit hole, which means rich parents their kids there for the arts programs, which means more funding for those programs.

I've been saying for years now that we need to bring back accountability to public schools before anything. If a kid is 15 and reads at a 3rd grade level, every single teacher since 3rd grade has been fucking up. He should've been held back 7 years earlier.

I worked in the school system, if you didn't think those kids were going to be forcefully pushed into the next grade regardless of test scores or even Coronavirus happening you are delusional.

Most of the kids read and wrote on a 2nd or 3rd grade level in middle school, and were being taught mathematical concepts they should have already learned - making many teachers spend months trying to catch them up before they could touch the content they should have started at the beginning of the year.

We wasted time giving four (4) standardized tests to track progress to every student each year. We implemented the Chromebook program that is causing education to hemmorage money on repairs. The kids can't be kept on task during class time because a user friendly management software teachers can use doesn't exist so most are listening to music or watching videos/movies or playing games. The kids would purposefully walk out of classrooms to ISS so they could fuck off and not work that period.

Meanwhile Principals, Executive and Board members are making 6 figures while patting themselves on the back for destroying the futures of upcoming generations. Our public education system is sick and needs a desperate overhaul in effeciency and effectiveness.

absolutely true. i went to a public highschool and every math class started by revisiting all this stuff from last semester. it took us a month before we even needed our book because we had to much content to recover.
