None of them are funny because the whole clique is based around Joe Rogan. Joe is the alpha male of the LA comedian community. You have to get his blessing to make it in that scene. Unfortunately, despite calling himself a comedian, Rogan doesn't even have a sense of humor. He managed to assemble a cult following of people who remember him from Fear Factor, UFC and his popular podcast. People will pay money to see his "comedy" for these reasons.
This results in the gatekeeper for comedians not being able to tell who is funny. You gain access to this crew either being Joe's old friend, or by having a popular podcast. If anyone ever stops pretending that Joe is funny, he will banish them from the land.
Now the entire "comedy" community in LA is comprised of unfunny Rogan dick-riders.
Half of these comedians never say anything funny.

This is really oversimplifying things and largely untrue. Agree that JRE has an overpowered influence, but Rogan doesn't have that much control on comedian success. It's true his friends get an unfair stat boost from being around Joe, but comedy is notoriously a merit based industry and the hilarious mofos actually do succeed. Also comedy is irreverent so comedians welcome shit talking each other, what the fuck do you mean. Joe Rogans standup isn't knock your socks off hilarious but he at least has enough awareness to accept insults and criticism. It's really just not a one dimensional gatekeeper world like you say

Truth, unfortunately. I remember when I used to laugh at comedians. They used to be funny. Now they just boast about their "interesting" lives on stage, with false self-degradation and humble-bragging. It's disgusting.
No hate to bill burr, he is fuckin hilarious. What I mean is that his solo podcast and some interviews he's too wrapped up in himself and says ridiculous shit that is hard for the listener. Not in the sense that I disagree in the sense that he starts making random noises or yelling singsong sounds and it's unintelligible lol. It's half funny half "turn this off". He does like 3 solo podcasts a week, I'm referencing those.
Just to clarify, Netflix is the gatekeeper if anything. Because they hand out specials which I believe have paychecks of 100k to 20M attached to them (in the case of Chappelle)
