With most Puerto Ricans and Dominicans where im from, while they do adapt certain aspects of nig culture and behavior, they generally depise blacks and think of them as subhuman.

As a Puerto Rican the problem is they love too say we're from a multi racial multi cultural society and thus promoting one over the other. If we can send back all 10 million Puerto Ricans back too the island then i would be for it. But i would separate Puerto Rican ethnicity among 6 racial groups and use the Military as an entry point. There's a study that Puerto Ricans in the military are better educated and are at least middle class. There is also a lot of education benefits like the GI Bill that can also be a entry way into a better life on the island incentivizing families to send their children into this Military Puerto Rican Progam. It's a lot of Human Resourcing but it will save and make the US far more money in the long term then hinder it.

If Puerto Ricans adopted a Spaniard-Taino centric attitude then we would fair off better but the problem is PR is one of the only Latin Countries that didn't adopt the Social Class rule that the rest of the Spanish colonies adopted. Rican here, depends on your families values and how you were raised. Most mid medium to high class ricans believe they're american and act on it. But recently this movement has been dominated by a more nationalistic approach thanks to artists like residente and bad bunny. We are easily persuaded by music but the truth it that we like to be persuaded. I used to be for the 51st state but I've changed my mind and think we should be independent and be anle to freely trade with any country. Even if this meant that every rican in the US had to go back to PR, I'd gladly go back and enjoy the simplicity of the lifestyle over there.
