From what I remember it was more localized events that caused conflicts. There was a fat black lady who beat the shit out of elderly Mexican man and that caused issues, and before that some Mexicans did a drive by and killed a black kid and that caused issues as well, the father of the kid was in the prison, of members of the Mexican gang where in there as well. Most of the issues were Mexicans vs blacks.

I liked it but it was highly unrealistic. Nothing like how prison really is.
One crazy story I remember dealt with a group of Mexicans called the "Paisas", which are illegal immigrants or guys born in Mexico. They are allied with the Chicanos/Mexican American gang bangers but they are they are their own different organization. They are not reallly a gang and most of them are just humble farm workers which is why they are allied with the gang bangers due to being from the same race but they do their own thing due to cultural differences. Even then the paisas when pushed can get vicious and are respected because even though a lot of them are just farm workers, a really good chunk of them are cartel members and drug traffickers.. Anyways story goes like this

Overall the riot lasted for a few hours, the craziest thing was that a Catholic priest that worked in the prison was the one who had to step in and the Mexicans listened. Everyone, even us the correctional officers admitted that it was the blacks fault, it really started off as a nice saturday morning and they ruined it for everyone
