To put it into context, Hitler did not want or intend to have to invade Poland, but by the time it happened, it was extremely obvious that the French and the English were GOING to find an excuse to invade Germany eventually, because their banker masters wanted it and Churchill really, really wanted it.

Now at the time, Germany had one (1) advantage over the Western Powers, which was that they could mobilize troops faster and they had an early advantage in terms of manpower, technology and doctrine. Their only real hope was to knock the French and the British out of the war early which they effectively did in the case of France--but after that, even a child could tell you that the Soviets had ambitions for Europe and that the Soviets were developing VERY quickly.

This is why the war with Russia was necessary. Every day that the Germans delayed the war, Russia grew stronger and more dangerous, and anyone who actually thinks that Stalin wasn't going to eventually roll up his sleeves and invade is delusional. At the time, there was basically no option except to throw hands with the Soviets to try and cripple their development, which again, nearly worked.
