Leo M Frank of Bnai Brith was a factory owner who murder raped Mary Phagan, white , age 14.
Trying to cover his tracks, he used a black who found her corpse in the coal cellar of the factory to try and fabricate a sort of diary of Phagan, with the goal to incriminate the black watchman whose area was around there.
The diary failed to convince the persecution, his various excuses failed to convice the persecution, his actions incriminated him, like when he tried to get a completely different worker off his back who came to the factory to get his shoes.
Frank told him that the shoes were gone but the worker then told him he had two pairs of spares, which busted Franks excuse to not let the guy in, etc.
Long story short, Frank was executed for his crime and the black men he wanted to take the fall for succeeded him.
This was called the largest case of antisemitism in the entirety of the USA and the ADL of Bnai Brith (among other things) was created in response.
The court case is still in the internet archive.
