The issue lies with the fact that the lower end of the 5G spectrum is ~3GHz which is the same frequency as the average microwave oven (this does not refer to the microwave EM spectrum).
Obviously the magnetron in an oven is very directionally focused, however 5G transmitters make use of phased arrays, which basically makes it so the superimposed waves can be pointed in a specific direction.
If you couple that with the transmission strength of a tower it could be used in a similar manner to the energy weapons that the DoD is always testing, it's obvious that this can and will fuck people up
