In a time period of people worried about food supplies, I think it’s criminal to the point of doing bad things to them in Minecraft should be publicly acceptable. Hell, we had victory gardens in WW2. What fucking clown world is this?
I also think the restriction on seeds is counterproductive. People need shit to do at home or they’ll go stir crazy. Gardening whether indoor or outdoors, is a fun hobby that will keep people occupied for months. Banning it is stupid if you want to keep people social distancing and ok with being stuck at home for a while longer.
I don’t necessarily blame nefarious motives on the part of the governor for banning it: it just feels like dumb bureaucracy where somebody got it in their heads to only allow “essential” products for sale, but they don’t realize that basically everything is essential to some people.
Take electronics stores for example. You might think stuff there isn’t essential. Wrong. What happens if somebody is diabetic and needs to refrigerate their insulin and their fridge breaks down?
Or what about hardware stuff in stores? What if somebody needs supplies to patch a broken window or roof and it’s raining? Everything can be essential.
You can’t ban commerce just because some government drone thinks something isn’t essential.

its not the banned of seeds techincally. She just mandated the closing of all the stores that sell them in the state due to store size and other things sold along with seeds (think lawn care stuff).
