GRE is a more forgiving exam and a lot of business schools have started accepting it.
With the GMAT if you perform poorly in the first 10 questions and get perfect on the next 40 questions your score could be below 700. The test is very sensitive to how you perform very early on.

Yesterday, for my telecommunications course, the professor sent out exams and gave us 2 hours to complete and return them. 2 hour deadline comes up, some Mexican dude swings into the chat and asks for more time. Professor tells everyone to go ahead and take their time, that he'll be flexible, after practically everyone but this one fucker already turned their shit in because they respected the deadline. They don't just lower the standards for everyone, instead they just pass along the retards so they all get C's, and everyone else is still expected to work hard. iq tests, if given when young and naiive, are the best indicators of intelligence. i find that if you know what you're taking, (i.e. an older person being tested) you're more likely to get an inaccurate reading-- or at least more variance in tests.

Grad school in NA is essentially a pipeline to be able to buy Canadian or American citizenship and get access to the NA job market. All these Ph.D.'s and they are essentially useless. Virtually none have any intention of actually working in their field. For most they want a few years doing some software development related to their field (because the work is easy, they can claim they're being "practical" and no one ever really fails) and then gun for a management position. And they often get it because existing management is dazzled by the fake doctorate.
Then they just start hiring more people from their country and the company goes to shit. I've seen this happen over and over in STEM companies.
