Why are there so many people willing to accept being surveilled? One thing is being surveilled by God, as several religions describe, another very different thing is being surveilled by the machine itself, thru its lowly human proxies.
TL;DR: why do so many people readily aqcuiese to a minority caste who wields the sharp end of tech-civ at them and their children?

There are a couple easy ways to reduce the botnet in your own life. Foremost is to get rid of your govcorps surveillance pod, aka "smart" phone. Another easy thing to do is to stop using Windows and OS X, install Linux or BSD. And another really easy way to help reduce botnet penetration into your life is to browse the web with Tor Browser, which of course doesn't stop lawful government surveillance but it DOES stop corporate tracking.
Just these three things will choke off most of the data flow to govmilcorp.
