I'm making twice as much being unemployed than if I was working. I need this lockdown to last at least 4 months when the 600 dollar a week+unemployment checks end. I don't think that will actually happen but I hope they can at least keep it shut down through May. Especially since I'm only going to be getting my first unemployment check this Friday.
If I could get 8 checks out of this I'd be happy.

They're giving it automatically right now if you have to file for unemployment. They're doing it for the next 3-4 months.

It probably won't last straight through May, but infections and deaths are going to rise again as soon as people go back to work. I would expect another shutdown 2-4 weeks after reopening. Who knows what happens after that.

I was the only one they furloughed at my work because I live with sick and elderly people. Apparently computer and cell phone repair is "essential" even though people really don't need a screen fixed on their 1000 dollar iphones when they can just buy a burner phone for 50 bucks at their local Kroger or dollar general. If they call me back into work I doubt they'll furlough me again. That's why I want this shit to stay shut down at least for a little while.

You don't always get it right away but you should start getting it soon. If you don't you might want to contact the IRS because you're supposed to be getting it as per the stimulus bill.

I'm just furloughed. They can call me back any time. I also work with the public. I really don't want to fucking go back.

Restaurants would reopen and thus have waiters and customers. Concerts happen and pack in thousands. The jobs will come back and people are desperate for them, and that will facilitate spread all over again.

A large number of people on unemployment currently aren't laid off, they're just furloughed due to decreased demand. The only industries that are truly destroyed ATM are travel and events. As soon retailers are cleared to return people to work, they will. Also, psychologically, people will take shutdown being "over" as a signal to relax social distancing, start congregating, etc.

Take a civics class and you'd know.

I've been laid off for 4 weeks now and ran my monthly numbers yesterday and with me being frugal and getting unemployment I'm surprisingly still pulling ahead and saving money. I'm just over 10k in my account so I'm going to give it another month, not changing anything, and start chipping away at my only debt, a credit card with some medical Bill's on it. I plan to keep these habits if things go back to normal. They more money I have and save the less goes to the jews.
