Personally I doubt he is guilty of the crimes he was charges with- but to reverse a jury verdict like that seems totally inconsistent with the principles of law. If the juries decision can be overruled on the basis they made the wrong call- why have a jury in the first place? It's like the reverse of double jepordy, they keep holding trials until you are found innocent.
This might all make sense though if a second round of charges are placed relating to other incidents
