Waterhouse - Hylas and the Nymphs
Paintings you especially like
So raw, I love it, thanks for sharing!
Isle of the Dead (German: Die Toteninsel) is the best-known painting of Swiss Symbolist artist Arnold Böcklin (1827–1901).
i have a full collection of art lol
Speaks volumes in our day and age. If thread picks up, I will contribute

Just saying, I'm on my work pc. If thread turns into something, I will get on my personal... Maybe cringe, but "fucking cringe"?
Dragos Kalajic, whose friend Julius Evola described as "responsible for the revival of the Roman aesthetic..."

>he doesn't know all brits have a bad attitude on the internet
Waterhouse and Godward are probably my favorite painters of all time.
You do realize that the lessons in all these "female ones" is against sexually immoral behavior, right?
Wrong
I actually do. The eternally cringe anglo is the most accurate longest running (non)-meme in existence tbqhimhob. That being said, some are redeemable. A few diamonds in the rough perhaps.

Fun fact: Norway had it WRITTEN INTO THEIR CONSTITUTION until the late 1800's that jews were literally banned from their country

Erotic art is beautiful. Pornography is ugly.
If you can't tell the difference, your brain has been rotted by jews.
I also like sameface syndrome.
Another Manet.

Do you ever wonder if a lot of this was just literal fap material for people pre-photographs
incredibly based

Maxfield Parrish
No love for baroque in here.
whew bunion
Alphonse Mucha
Anything by Van Goph, his depression and melancholy were used to create masterpieces that he never thought would be worth anything more than firewood. He suffered and suffered, while painting day and night to create era-defining artwork but died before any of it was recognized. He gave them all boring and obvious names because it hardly mattered what art nobody would ever see or care about would be called.
This is very nice
Only women and faggots cringe, gaylord
Reply of the Zaporozhian Cossacks
Sultan Mehmed IV to the Zaporozhian Cossacks: As the Sultan; son of Muhammad; brother of the sun and moon; grandson and viceroy of God; ruler of the kingdoms of Macedonia, Babylon, Jerusalem, Upper and Lower Egypt; emperor of emperors; sovereign of sovereigns; extraordinary knight, never defeated; steadfast guardian of the tomb of Jesus Christ; trustee chosen by God Himself; the hope and comfort of Muslims; confounder and great defender of Christians – I command you, the Zaporogian Cossacks, to submit to me voluntarily and without any resistance, and to desist from troubling me with your attacks.
—Turkish Sultan Mehmed IV
The Cossacks' reply came as a stream of invective and vulgar rhymes:
Zaporozhian Cossacks to the Turkish Sultan!
O sultan, Turkish devil and damned devil's kith and kin, secretary to Lucifer himself. What the devil kind of knight are thou, that canst not slay a hedgehog with your naked arse? The devil shits, and your army eats. Thou shalt not, thou son of a whore, make subjects of Christian sons; we have no fear of your army, by land and by sea we will battle with thee, fuck thy mother.
Thou Babylonian scullion, Macedonian wheelwright, brewer of Jerusalem, goat-fucker of Alexandria, swineherd of Greater and Lesser Egypt, pig of Armenia, Podolian thief, catamite of Tartary, hangman of Kamyanets, and fool of all the world and underworld, an idiot before God, grandson of the Serpent, and the crick in our dick. Pig's snout, mare's arse, slaughterhouse cur, unchristened brow, screw thine own mother!
So the Zaporozhians declare, you lowlife. You won't even be herding pigs for the Christians. Now we'll conclude, for we don't know the date and don't own a calendar; the moon's in the sky, the year with the Lord, the day's the same over here as it is over there; for this kiss our arse!
HOWS THIS?
They say he was obsessed with it. I am now.
You're a fucking idiot. Novelty is cheap, beauty is eternal. The emperor has no clothes.
In the future, when archaeologists dig up the ruins of our society, all the "statement" art and abstract paintings will be thrown in the pile with Ikea decor.
get dabbed on
Yikes llamanon. YOu also consider a banana taped to the wall high art dontcha.
The classic. Other than being a meme it really is poignant. On his right we see letters, describing the fall of a strategic fortress but it's oh so far away and we have still so much time. The only person who sees writing on the wall is a court jester.
My grandfather did western landscapes of mountains and deserts, they weren’t great bite I have a few hanging on my walls. Those are my favorite but I enjoy some of bo Bartlett’s paintings, here is “the American”. If I make it home before this thread dies I’ll post some of my grandfathers.
One of my favorites.
Portrait of Charles Vane
I just love his expression and overall look

I don't pretend shit, I just like it. One of the things I enjoy most is reading about the background.
The Night Watch - Rembrant

I thought OP was building up to post this painting.
