Give it some time. These kinds of things take years to take root in the majority of the populace, but they always end up succeeding in establishing themselves as a normal part of social behavior.

Yeah, but most people are apathetic. Gay marriage won out because it doesn't really affect anyone, it doesn't change their lives, so it's easy to not care about it being legalized when nothing for you changes. The pronoun thing seems to directly be trying to control you, control how you think, control what you say, that's a big difference for the average Joe.
It's been five years now since this cancer really took off after that Bruce Jenner Vanity Fair cover in 2015. Outside of college campuses, it's really hard to see this becoming widespread in regular peoples' daily routines in the real world (not online.)
