Where to live in Canada?

I was born in Vancouver but obviously I won't be able to afford it once I graduate my civil engineering program. What is the best place to live in Canada as a young civil engineer in training? I did French Immersion in high school so my French is better than most anglophones, but I'm still a bit rusty. Do you guys have any suggestions?

SK?

Move to Campbell River or Vic, the island is pretty decent and comfy if you goto like Chemainus or Gabriola

Right now: anywhere you can find a job.

Alberta is going to be fucked for the foreseeable future with oil in the toilet.

There's so many hidden gems in bc. The Kootenays is really nice. Lots of cutie hippie girls around Nelson, and ski towns like Kimberley and fernie. Honestly fernie probably has the best prospects as far as being a cool town, with lots of neat folks, but still pretty cheap and lots of potential work with all the mines nearby.
Just don't go to Cranbrook whatever you do.

Find a nice mid sized city with some government jobs

London, Kitchener, Halifax, Ottawa

Campbell River is gorgeous. Love the pier there. Not sure he'd find a job there though.

Whatever you do, OP, stay where you have access to mountains and ocean, you don't know how good you have it out there.

>government jobs
This seems to be the way to go for civil engineering. Municipal design has amazing job stability and low stress from what I've heard. Normally I am a much more competitive person but I don't see any reason to work in the private sector in Canada because the pay is shit compared to similar work that you would be doing in the US.

I live in Courtenay right now, and it's pretty cool. Cumberlands nice, but it's also just really expensive to live on the island.

My fair Haligonia's been overrun with hyper- leftists. NS is still great as ever in the rural bits though

I have a friend who used to live in Winnipeg with horror stories about the prairie chugs. Apparently they are much more violent and rowdy than the ones on the coast.

I was thinking about somewhere in that region for the comfy Twin Peaks-esque atmosphere. As long as there's stuff like this and a mostly white population I would be happy I think.

Imagine working for the kiked Canadian government.

Come to Saskatchewan if you want a province that's truly based. Left-wing fags are always seething and every riding in this province went straight blue in the last election.

P.Eng. fag here. Alberta is dead, if you really wan to keep being a leaf then Toronto is the only option.

You really should do what I wish I did and move to the states right after graduation

I would do everything in my power to make sure nothing gets done

>move to the states right after graduation
I really want to but the TN Visa thing seems pretty flaky to me. From what I've read, it's almost impossible to find a company who will sponsor you as a fresh grad.

Pretty sure nobody from BC has ever set foot in Sask. You Saskatchewan boys are great but your province is pretty shit.

How are the natives?

You can come to my beautiful city of Thunder Bay

I know people like to meme about Thunder Bay being a shithole, but is it actually that bad? I know the murder rate is fucked because of the native population.

They are a problem ngl but they keep to their own area of town. Not as bad as Winnipeg, believe me.The upside is most whites are openly racist after a beer or two.

You can make it work, I had a few co-op students under my wing that did.

All employers want cheap clueless graduates, they will sponsor you.
