I was in the US Navy in 2012 and I remember my chief was stationed in Antartica. He told me there is a huge base down there and something is "going on". But couldn't share anything because it's top secret.
I've always thought there's something really serious happening down there.

Personal experience, I was travelling and went to some hot springs. Was freezing temp out of them, some Brazillian dude was walking around in his underwear not bothered. Kinda amazing, I asked wtf was up. He said he was deployed in Antarctica for 3 months, cold is just mental games. He doesnt feel it. Never saw him arrive or leave, no idea where he came from.

Thats correct. They found old remains of an ancient rainforest. As Antarctica is also heating up because of global warming, the rain forrests may be coming back to Antarctica..
