Can an actual Christian (not a larper) explain to me how prayer makes any sense? Why would an omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent God change his perfect plan just because you asked nicely?
Can an actual Christian (not a larper) explain to me how prayer makes any sense? Why would an omniscient, omnipotent...
You are a LARP
if you don't get it then it can't be explained.
I bet if I were to pull a gun on you and start pressing the trigger you'd beg God to save you.
It doesn't. Christians also will always say that god gives you free will.
Trannies are becoming Christian now to stop the spread of Islam.
FYI
Because you are of God, a piece of God. You have the ability to influence the universe with your divinity.
You just forfeit all of your power because you're too much of a pussy to believe in your god-given power because you're afraid your reddit friends will laugh at you.
You post blasphemy and expect Christians to respond to you? Perhaps come in good faith retard
>This
I would kill you, not a larp. I'm praying right now for you. Every mintue. Of everyday.
Just answer it, should be simple enough. Why should one's spiritual begging influence God's plan?
It doesn't, but it gives people hope and sometimes that alone can help you get through a tough situation. That's why they say not to pray for an easier life, but for the strength to endure tougher challenges
>Omniscience and free will are a paradox
>Since I am 12 years old I will post my common knowledge on Yas Forums
Commit suicide, faggot.
Imagine thinking this makes any sense.
It does not. God's plan is what you trust in as a Christian you moron. And prayer isn't begging if you are faithful and virtuous and live by God's commandments, not because you have to, but because you want to. Because you understand that's what's right. Like I said, if you don't understand you won't get it. But if by some miracle you do, then you'll beg God for forgiveness.
prayer conditions you, not God. you have it backwards.
When you don't have an argument but you still feel obligated to give an emotional reply it just tells me you're deeply butthurt
>prayer is a placebo
Succinctly
why would romans be homos? it was lead poisoning that killed them homosexuality was punishable by death? the only ones that love homos are the jews
I'm not a christian but I suspects it works on the level of memetics. That is, that which you put into the world is bound to play a part in changing it.
that's not how it works faggot
you are personalizing god, limiting the definition and understanding of what god is
and the you come to a faggy conclusion that makes your face go sad
understand god instead as universal consciousness
you are a drop inside that ocean
by praying you let waters flow
you make yourself more one with the ocean
and miracles happen
instead of being a puddle of dirty water separated from the sea, you call the tide to wash you and make you one, clean and powerful again, and one with everything and thus fulfilling the All's program and thus seeing magic happen and being an essential part of it
faggot
and turning yourself into a more in tune, whole and unified part of it is ultimately what you pray for.
>thy will not mine
It's faith. Which gets tested often. You might be so far up your own ass that you don't see it. But I do. Perhaps one day you will too, while you still cast a shadow on this earth. Beyond that I think it might be too late.
No, he's right, this is some edgy teen level bullshit. And why the fuck are you even asking this on Yas Forums? Are you aware there's other boards on the site that are far better suited to this question? Like /his/ or /lit/? Fuck off you you utter faggot. STOP SHITTING THE BOARD UP WITH YOUR RETARDED D&C BULLSHIT.
want a non christian answer? Praying serves an extremely similar function to meditation. I don't see you complaining or trying "gotcha" questions about meditation.
Would you ask a Buddhist why meditation is a thing?
Can an actual atheist tell me why their tiny brains can't comprehend that God isn't a single conscious mind that can only focus on one or two things. Fuck me, He's omnipotent.
>my dogma is supreme so s-shut up
>you're being ignorant though
zero self-awareness
Your entire post was just layered butthurt
>n-no u-u????
Not an atheist, try a more accurate strawman
>Can an actual Christian (not a larper) explain to me how prayer makes any sense? Why would an omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent God change his perfect plan just because you asked nicely?
We are surrounded by invisible bands of electromagnetic energy, the words we write and speak manipulate this electromagnetic energy creating patterns in it.
The same is true of prayers, prayers manipulate the electromagnetic energy around us, so do thoughts. Matter is a reflection of patterns in the electromagnetic energy field. If you pray enough or enough people pray together, the force of your consciousness can come to influence material reality.
We can pray for both good and evil things, God is the name for the force that rules the universe, every event that happens both good and evil is by the hand of God, and the hand of God can move in response to petitions made by humans and animals, and even the consciousness of plants can affect God.
This all relates to ether the fifth element which is associated with the sky, the sky is where pure electromagnetic energy exists, but this energy exists all around us. Spirits don't literally go to the sky, ghosts exists in the ether and the ether is on earth.
At the end of the day everyone is gifted with free will, meaning that everything is not predestined. Although God has a perfect plan, it is not a plan in which every single event is set to happen in a specific way. God has an end goal, and he can accomplish it no matter what we, or Satan does on Earth. God is showing his power by continuously finding new solutions to reaching his end goal despite choices billions of people make; this is why he accepts prayer and changes events because of prayer.
>god has a plan
>we may ask him nicely to change it though
The more you explain it the worse it gets. Basically prayer is fucking retarded and you should believe in god because.
Well, you at you, aren't you just the edggiest - now post a picture like that with Mohammad.
Better yet, man up and take it down to your local mosque, show it to the imam there, and ask him the same question.
Vae Victis
It is a symbiotic relationship. A man who prays will have motivations that allign with God. He won't struggle.
You literal tard. It says in the scripture that you are not to test God. You cannot make demands let alone ask for God to do things for you.
Literally teaches (spirit ) "empathy", to not think only of yourself... Like a narcissist (ego).
No more, no less.
Empathy has & always will be the truest survival trait of humanity.
>you don't believe prayer is effectual hehe why don't you go pray to Allah then xD gottem
based, and true
>god has a plan
>we may ask him nicely to change it though
If you read the Bible you will see that prayer can change the mind of God, Abraham managed to talk God down on a particular issue involving Sodom and Gomorrah. And you don't have to ask God nicely, you can demand things of God both good and evil. Book of psalms contains both blessings and curses.
Even Jesus cursed things sometimes. Your assumptions on God are not biblically based.
So what is the functional purpose of prayer?
>you can change God's mind with demands
Some almighty huh
>Your assumptions on God are not biblically based
Why should one's concept of God be based on anthopogenic literature?
Call it what you want. You can't understand it and I get the distinct feeling you don't want to. So why you reeling asking this? You gonna show your atheist buddies this conversation, maybe they'll think you are cooler?
Christians remember. don't give pearls to swine .
I discovered the power of prayer in rehab. I had cravings and anger issues and I prayed for Jesus to take them away and He did. I hadn't felt that kind of peace and clarity in a long time.
I don't get the cravings anymore, thank God, but I still deal with a lot of anger which is what drove me to drink in the first place. Prayer still works, and it distracts me from the source of my anger while I'm praying. So it's pretty great. I don't pray for anything from God except that he take the anger/urges away and that He make me an instrument of His will, not mine. I highly recommend it if anybody is struggling with a mental/emotional issue like mine.
>So what is the functional purpose of prayer?
The purpose of prayer is to manipulate the world by affecting the subtle electromagnetic energy fields that are affected by both thought and word. There are competing consciousnesses perhaps pushing in a opposite direction, so people may have to pray multiple times.
God is in a process of becoming just as man is, and the evolution of man affects the way God unfolds the universe.
Can you please remove this photo? Jesus loves you user
All the stuff around you like your computer and your name all started as an idea in someones head. Talking with God (the deeper you) is a way to filter ideas and realize them.
