I was laid off indefinitely March 19th, place closed down, so I filed unemployment. I got approved and filed for my first bi-weekly return. Congress passed that law for us all to get an additional $600 a week through Unemployment. Sometime later I noticed that I was still receiving a direct deposit from my employer for about 32 hours per week. I am a laborer, paid hourly. I've never worked a job where they close down and somehow decide to continue paying you indefinitely?
So, now I'm going to have to fuck around with Unemployment fighting this shit in the middle of this pandemic just to get the money the government earmarked for me because they put me out of fucking work due to no fault of my own.
Is anyone else experiencing this or know wtf the owner is trying to pull?
The government fucked up the response to this flu so fucking bad they've destroyed our entire economy and then they do a stimulus to help people who got screwed and they end up just getting screwed harder. Fuck this government, I hope it burns and they all hang.
Similar thing happened to be, but apparently you don't get "bonus money" if you already qualify for unemployment benefits (which I paid into ffs) Any Canucks know what's up with that ? I want my cuck bucks our fagminister promised.
Jaxson Roberts
Yeah, idk about Canada. I'm only getting $350 every two weeks through unemployment, but with the $600 a week stimulus that would bring me to $1550 every 2 weeks which would allow me to stock up on supplies to prepare for the economic collapse and food shortages.
Juan Martin
Have you received you +$600 yet? I thought I'd be getting extra but I found out it's only for people who have lost their jobs and have nothing to live on.
Luke Brown
You guys have no luck, first Trump and now this.
Liam Kelly

Not yet, but they just started giving them out. Should have it by tomorrow or Wednesday. But, I might end up having to pay it all back if they say im not eligible. It just feels bad, because this hit us out of nowhere and it was cool the government was giving us money since they closed us the fuck down and now its like my company just trying to fuck us over and unemployment is so backlogged you cant talk to anyone to get the shit straightened out
Michael Williams
btw I'm buying a brand new Hyundai Tucson 2020 AWD with sunroof and leather seat with that money :p

Not a big deal dude, contact your former employer and let them know you're still getting paid by direct deposit and ask if it's in error. Ask them to provide their response in writing (email works). If it's an error, send that to the unemployment office, and when you return the mistaken paid money, get a written receipt (again, email works for this) and then send that to the unemployment office too.
It might delay some shit but as long as you have a paper trail, the government worker processing your shit really doesn't give a fuck.

Self employed master race, applied for an SBA loan, haven't heard a peep, stimulus check? Nothing. I'd like to see who voted for this horseshit relief package and to whom the money is being given. I have a hunch not a single Stein, Berg, or Witz is going without or being denied assistance.
David Reyes
I was furloughed March 27th and last week got my unemployment pay and the extra 600. Good luck OP.
Cooper Jenkins
Bullshit. EI is 50% of your wage. Your numbers don't add up. Also, without an ROE you coun't get EI. ALL Lies, and bad ones. You're probably not even Canadian.
Ryder Turner
What state are you in?

>Not a big deal dude, It is a big deal, because im having to waste my fucking time dealing with this BS. My employer is simply trying to fuck us over and being sneaky as fuck. When I said I was going to fight for my UC, because no one ever told me we were going to continue getting paid and I never heard of a company paying employees indefinitely not to work. When I got to the UC COVID 19 FAQ page, it literally says if your company was shut down due to COVID 19 you can file for unemployment.
Jason Fisher
>buying a brand new korean car
Mason Hernandez
When i said i was going to fight for my UC, she told me if I signed a letter of resignation I would get my UC. LOL, thats an outright lie. She's literally committing fraud. She's just some crazy old white bitch who acts more jewish than any fucking Jew.
Dominic Watson
Thanks user. I'm hoping I'll get it.
Benjamin Russell
>Sometime later I noticed that I was still receiving a direct deposit from my employer for about 32 hours per week. ... Well. If you were notified that you were laid off, then this isn't money for work. They're just gifting you money. Or they just forgot to stop paying people.

What's the most Yas Forums related reasoning behind draining the state and federal unemployment insurance coffers?
The government fucked us and now we demand compensation or violence will ensue.

A friend of my father has a clinic in Chicago , he filed for gov assistance and hey granted him 70,000$ to use to pay his employees the only catch is that he is not allowed to fire them
Is the check your getting similar or smaller than your pay check in the past?
Do you have paperwork to show your officially fired? Or was it word of mouth?
He could be doing something shady and receiving government paycheck and pocketing a percent
Hope that helps user
Aiden Campbell
That money was marked for corporations. You need to stop being selfish consumer.
Right, but businesses will have to replenish those coffers, perhaps at a higher rate per new hire depending on hour much they've loaned from the federal cache.
Lucas Morris
>he filed for gov assistance and hey granted him 70,000$ to use to pay his employees the only catch is that he is not allowed to fire them >gov tells me im eligible for $600 stimulus >works a deal to give the money to my company instead I'm getting my money one way or the other.
Adam Parker
Same here. Applied for both SBA programs, haven't heard a peep. Applied for unemployment because supposedly there was going to be something for us, but so far that just seems made up.

Either they are giving you severance pay and you didnt read the paperwork or.... they are keeping you on the payroll and paying you so they can qualify for a bigger federal loan.
Dylan Fisher
If your boss is that awful, actually resign and collect unemployment. Or sue for bad employment practices depending on your state. Again, the issue is whether or not you're still employed and whether or not you're being paid due to error. Get the written responses and send them to the unemployment office.
Being "shut down" due to covid is different from being laid off. If the business is "shut down" but still paying you, you're not unemployed and you're getting paid, so you don't need unemployment. It's that simple. And when you were "laid off indefinitely" you should have gotten a letter or email stating the exact nature of your employment status. "Furloughed" is not "laid off", and laid off indefinitely doesn't make sense anyway. You're either laid off or not. I'm starting to think you just misunderstood your current employment status.
Again, as long as you're getting paid and it's not in error, YOU HAVE INCOME. It doesn't matter if it's through unemployment or wages from your employer. Calm down.
Nathaniel Miller
>Either they are giving you severance pay and you didnt read the paperwork or.... they are keeping you on the payroll and paying you so they can qualify for a bigger federal loan. I dont have any benefits like severance pay or paid time off. They shut the place down and there is no work, that's what UC is for. IDGAF about their loans and some back channel deal they have going with the government. I'll sue whoever the fuck I have to in order to get my money and if I still dont get it, I know where the bitch lives. It's that simple. Im no ones nigger.

>be yeshiva >have 6,000,000 501(c)(3)s >One legal entity for each paperclip, pushpin, and copy machine >apply for 6,000,000 SBA loans >all approved >sorry goyim, there's overwhelming demand for these programs, better luck next time I honestly wish they were granted the 60 billion bad optics carveout the ADL was asking for. Instead, we'll never know who got what. However, I'll chop off my own foreskin and burn it for Moloch if a SINGLE JCC or Yeshiva goes under because of this.
