Good hard working people imo. It's a shame that the drug war has caused so much havoc because Mexico is actually a really nice country.

Could have much worse neighbors to our south. We need to get the cartels under control though.
I live near the border and I like Mexicans. Mexican women especially are warm, open, funny, very down to earth. Mexican men are a little more difficult to get to know. They often have a little bit of a chip on their shoulder. But that disappears once you get to know them. There are some cultural problems that slow down their economic success - like the apparently irresistible urge to start popping out babies as soon as they reach puberty.
Keep in mind my opinion is based on my area which is NOT the urban shithole cholo land of Los Angeles.

Legalize drugs and the cartels vanish in a matter of weeks. Continue the drug war and you will not live to see the day the cartels are anything remotely like "under control".
