Frats are just a way to become hyperconnected to people during college. The frat parties together and does lots of events which makes it easy to meet people. If you are in a frat with some guys who have rich parents, you can get some pretty lucrative connections that will help you (potentially) get a job and have a stable career path.

Most frats are just a bunch of drunk suburban kids though looking to cause mischief. All the brotherhood shit is extremely gay and nobody talks about that shit outside of college.

Fraternities back in the late 80s early 90s had groupies called "Little Sisters". These little sisters and wannabe little sisters lined up around the block for our parties. That is something that I have only experienced once and will never again. The ease of picking up girls was unbelievable. The college was 4 to 1 girls to guys in the first place. So, figure that one out.

College frats have degenerated from their original purpose, yes. However, fraternities in general are an eternal cornerstone of masculinity with purpose. It’s the best way to make connections (the only the thing that matters) in college unless you’re naturally smart, proactive, and social - able to make connections yourself. It does the work of socializing for you if you’re asocial and you instantly gain a network of 2000 people through pledgeship just by being associated with some letters. If you can get by on your personality and intelligence alone, your liver will be better off.
