AFAIK the US has triage instructions under the guise of "ventilator guidelines" as well.

They're talking about "biological age" rather than "chronological age", what they say this means is that they categorize you into an "age group" based on how long a person with whatever health situation you have is expected to survive, then treat you according to that "age groups" specifications. So rather than being actual age groups, it's groupings of how long a lifetime they evaluate you to have left.
