=3,600,000 deaths a year in the USA

IF 200,000 from corona,
that would Add 5.5% to our total deaths for the year

EXCEPT

it doesn't work like that.

Influenza and pneumonia combined kill 50,000 a year
Lower respiratory diseases kill another 150,000
that's 200,000 total deaths from failure to continue breathing

If 200,000 die of corona, there will be a huge overlap with those 200,000 who would have died of flu/pneu/lower, maybe close to 100% overlap... they are the same group of people, susceptible to the same illnesses, and are going to die of one of them.

In short,

CORONA will ADD a maximum of 5.5% to our yearly deaths, but more likely... A LOT LESS than 5.5%

Not to mention most people who have corona have no symptoms but everyone who dies with corona is labeled as a "corona death".
