You'd think the world was ending. You seen two of the most iconic buildings on the New York skyline literally reduced to nothing. Literally exploding hundreds of feet outwards to fucking dust.

I was in high school and saw the news when i got home. At first didn't took it seriously, but after seeing news coverages, it dawned me and knew something will change in US.

I was in college. It was a pretty nice day. I heard it live on the radio as I was driving to class. Almost drove off a bridge in shock.

My school is a suburb of DC. Most of my class mates parents worked in DC, and a few had parents at the pentagon. Everyone was allowed to leave early if your parents came and got you.

They rolled the CRTs into every class and we watched live. It was weird because class cycles were still happening. So very 45 minutes we had to get up and go to next class but it was no class just the tv.

Driving home on RT 7, was eerily weird. There was almost no traffic. And for a highway with a cop every 4 miles, there was no cops at all. No one was on the road. It was weird. I remember flooring it in my mom’s 98 Camry and hitting 100mph just because I could without consequence.

After graduating hs, I received a ROTC scholarship, commissioned and found my self in Iraq in 2006-2009, then to afghanistan 2009-2012.

I was in geometry class when it happened. The resident hottie history teacher came bursting through the door telling our teacher to turn the tv on. She said the world was about to change. We all watched the second plane hit live. It was surreal and I don’t think any of the students realized how bad it was about to get. 3 years later I enlisted into the Marine Corps because I bought into the neocon bullshit.

i was 15 5 days before

I was second in command at a coastal USCG SAR Station on the east coast. We all knew it was terrorism immediately. We went into lockdown and recalled the the crew that was off for 48 hours (the crews worked 48 on 48 off during the week and 72 on 72 off over the weekends, pretty sweet). The next day all of our reservists had been recalled to active duty and we were providing 24/7 waterside security for a nearby liquid natural gas facility that could vaporize a 6 mile radius if bombed. Good times.

I was working a tech job in Atlanta, and they let us all go home to work after the 2nd plane hit and everyone started realizing this was an attack and not an accident. I had to drive right past CNN and Coca-Cola and my ass was clenched wondering if those were about to blow up in front of me. Even then it was weird.....like I get the symbolism of hitting the towers and pentago, but I was thinking if they flew a plane into Boulder dam or even the dam in Georgia at Lake Lanier, the death toll and destruction would have been FAR worse. (Atlanta would cease to exist without Lake Lanier. And imagine what the loss of the Boulder dam would do). So I thought this attack was "odd" in so many ways, way before we knew about the Jewry involved. Also, I DISTINCTLY remember a firefighter saying that they decided to "take down" building 7, though I can't find footage of that anywhere. Basically admitting they blew it on purpose. And again, I was thinking that would take WEEKS of preparation, you can't just but some blocks of explosives at the four corners and take a building down. But that's what the dude said. It was pretty wack from the very start.

Nah, I had graduated high school in 2000. After dicking around at community college for a few semesters and then partying for awhile I had enlisted while joking that "WW3 is going to start now that I signed the papers".

I woke up at my parents house on a tuesday morning, nobody else home, turned on the TV tube, and it was after the first plane hit and before the second.

We weren't allowed to leave without a parent picking you up, but I just walked home since I lived a mile from home. I remember seeing the plane hit the second tower on TV. Took me a minute to process and looking back, I realized how innocent I was.

To clarify, I was on delayed enlistment. I never even ended up deploying (pogue), although a high school friend died in Iraq. Coronavirus is a bigger happening than 9/11 even though 9/11 was more dramatic. I was one of the last kids to get picked up by the bus in a rural area so I was in my house a bit longer than the rest of the kids on the bus, my parents were acting all concerned looking at the TV. said that the "twin towers got blown up" or something along those lines. told people on the bus and one kid adamantly decided I was making things up. a couple hours into the school day we hear the official announcement and hear that we're all going to be taken home. I turned to that kid with a big fucking grin on my face because I was right and he was wrong.
