1812: Napoleon with all of Europe (except Britain) tried to conquer Russia
1813: Russia conquers Paris
Is this the greatest military achievement by any country?

Also why didn't the Russians take Revenge for Moscow by destroying Paris?
Also it was 1814 when Paris fell
If I can be a bit proudful I'd say Siege of Siget as well
Also how come Prussia is considered a military powerhouse of its time when they got destroyed by a Manlet who's not even French
Would one consider Hitler to be more successful or less than Napoleon?
Do you consider this ranking memetic?
Also Germany is listed 5th
What has the US won? Japan?
So what do you think the real ranking is?
The myth of prussia derives from the seven year war.
Good thread btw...
I'm actually not so in touch with the 7 year war as much as with Napoleonic wars
What would you say was the objective of Prussia and how much of it did they accomplish?
A quick glance tells me Prussia basically got lucky?
That Russia felt pity for Prussia( in human terms )
Hitler, Soviet union was very close to collapsing. Russkies at one point asked to keep sending rations to russia instead of opening second fron and stopping food and guns shipments from usa.
Napaleon basically lost without fighting russians by starving and dying of cold
the tzar at that time claimed that his biggest dream is to be a solider in the Prussian kings army. He thought that Russians do not deserve to beat based Prussia, so he pulled the army back.
And then his wife killed him(and she did it being german herself, so you can imagine the level of faggotry that was going on there).
But Napoleon was already running away for a long time before winter even kicked in
Can't you read dates?
Argument for Napoleon though:
He did get to Moscow
Hitler didn't (80% of Nazis were murdered on the Eastern front)
Polish biggest military achivment was beating the Russians so hard at Smolensk, with the help of the Vampire king Poles had at that time, that Ivan III made his son promise he will concentrate on expanding in other directions then Poland.
Wait this is interesting
So his wife was angry with him for not destroying her people?
I see German women were always the same
I mean yeah it's obvious
The only thing that can stop a Slav is another Slav
Lmao get out of here Russian shill. Conquering your enemy's capital is always easier when counterattacking. It hardly counts when Napoleon's army was a shell of itself. If they had beaten Napoleon when he was at full strength then maybe it would be impressive.
well Katherin the Great was a "special" kind of woman.
brother to the great Elizabeth.
Moscow was not capital at that point if i recall. and Napaleon was not even close to bringing russia to its knees. while Hitler was very very close
I mean if Russia had Italy Sweden Austrohungarians Prussia Poland Spain on its side and was fighting against Napoleon and the British (basically role reversal)
They would definitely conquer France
It's just that everyone knew that wasn't smart to do because then Russia would have an obvious control of the European continent and there would be no balance of power a common argument back then
I mean look at everyone helping ottomans
Also I just read war and peace so I had to flex my knowledge
Hmmm trips
Do you really think she died by a horse?
You are correct St.Petersburg was where the court lied
But Moscow was seen as a holy city
And still is
As the Third Rome
So it was very traumatizing
>Napoleon with all of Europe (except Britain)
>Moscow was seen as a holy city
>And still is
>As the Third Rome
Wtf are you smoking OP
Napoleon with all of French subjugated Europe attempts to conquer Russia - fails
Russia with liberated European allies defeats France temporarily
nah, but she did fuck a lot. ton of kids too.
Mate
Only 30% of the army trying to invade Russia was French
On the other hand
60-70% of the invaders of Paris were Russians
I mean are we into truth or not here?
Well it does have 1200-1600 as a consequence of that belief
I didn't see it too
But then it got explained
The same way Constantinople became 2nd Rome (which is obviously the case)
Is the same way Moscow got if from Constantinople (Byzantium fell, and it was orthodox, Moscow was still around and orthodox)
Voila
A better claim than the holy Roman empire
1200-1600 churches*
Is that not a W for the French??? Napoleon forced them to fight for him, Russians were just footsoldiers in the coalition against Napoleon the British from day 1 were the brains and money behind his demise.
Yes Napoleon forced all of Europe to fight for him and to invade Russia and they failed
That's my point whole of Europe failed
Exactly as you said he forced everyone except Russians and the British
I like how people skip the Great Novigrod. the Rome being reborn is moscov, is a XVIth century thing.
Kiev and Novigrod, before the mongols, were much more important seats of power, then Moscov, plus they actualy were linked by marrige. while moscov tzars were married to Paleologs in exile(and their legitimacy was questionable).
It's kinda hard to invade Russia not many have succeeded in history. When they faced him in open battle Napoleon annihilated the Russians plenty of times. The invasion was foolish
Yeah Novigrod is a historic city to say the least
How do Russians call that era the golden ring or?
Has anyone ever conquered or subjugated Russia for at least some time?
Serious question
No and it depends what you mean by some time. They've been defeated but wholly conquered
Imperial Russians since XVI century try to forget those times, in general. I mean till 1998, in russian historiosophy you couldn't call novigrod great in official papers.
Western rus called it the Golden Time in XIII-XIVth century.
By even a second
Has Russia surrendered itself to someone other's dominion?
>Russkies at one point asked to keep sending rations to russia instead of opening second fron
Probably because after 1943 we didn't really need a second front
>Kiev and Novigrod, before the mongols, were much more important seats of power
I mean yeah, but it was Moscow who consolidated power of the russian lands and shook of the yoke.
What do you mean, if it wasn't for Zhukov dodging the bullet , which IMO was a miracle intervention of God, the front against imperial japan would have been fucked up. And without the siberian divisions the counter attack would never have worked.

Here she talks about the golden ring (impressed at myself for remembering)
That's what I meant

Also here Anya (my God!) Is in Novgorod
I don't disagree with it. And it is much better now, as I said, in official documents you couldn't call novigrod great till 1998. And it is not like it was a communist invetion. Ivan the third was the first implement it. And later on it was an important founding stone of imperial russia. It is hard to explain the right of Moscow to take control and unify all Rus people, if someone start poping up and claiming that Kiev or Novigrod have a no smaller, or even bigger right.
nice selfie gypsoid
You know, technicly their right to the byzantian throne is older then Rus one. Their tzars got married in to the imperial family a few hundrad years before any slavic people died. heck technicly Welfs have the right too, as their line came from a porifirogenet princess. While both Bulgars and Rus got normal princess as wifes.
>if it wasn't for Zhukov dodging the bullet
You can go pretty far with the "ifs".
If Hitler's generals listened to him in the beginning of the war and went for caucasus oil right off the bat Germans might have won the war. Or at least would've had much better chances.
If Stalin wasn't a fucking pussy retard and didn't delay sending troops to the border until the very last week we wouldn't have been caught with out pants down and probably would've win the war without losing so many people.
Japs cucked out and there's that.
Because the russian is a civilized being
Imagine fighting for the haspburcucks
Overall Napoleon is more successful. Britain did nothing except annoy him. The problem is that a being such as napoleon cannot rest without achieving. That led him into russia.
Zhukov should have gotten the bullet, the fact that he wasn't hanged as traitor after the war is baffling.
>Kiev or Novigrod have a no smaller, or even bigger right
De jure, you are probably right, de facto though
Well Austrian empire was probably a relatively good time for Croatia given that Austrians liked us and used us to balance Hungarians.
With time Croats became the strongest Slavic nation in the empire (and there were many)
But what could've been done it's a wonder this small nation survived all this time not having any cheat codes like Switzerland (the Alps)
Everybody likes to point to "typical Russian chaos" but Russians are consistently able to accomplish things more organized nations cannot.
Only Mongols, but they have lost partial territory to most of their neighbors.
defacto when In XVI century? Because as I said nowadays it is much better then 100 or 50 years ago, and even better then 150 years ago. 150 years ago if someone would try to write a disertation on the role of novigrod or kiev in formation of Rus people, or even claim that there is something like a separate kind of Rus people from moscov Russians, their academic title would be revoked, their czyn would drop, and if they kept being persistent about it they would be sent as a goverment official to novosibirsk or some other nice place like that.
Russia didnt conquer france, frenchies froze and starved to death in your barren country
after the death of Ivan the IVth the moscov bojars offered the prince of Poland, later to be Wladislav the IVth, the moscov throne. He accepted and was 60km away from Moscov with his buddies, when a letter from his father arrived(who as all sweeds was deeply paranoid, and hated his own son), that if the prince accepts the throne and enters Moscov, then his father is disinherting him, and it means an automatic war declaration, between him and the supposed new Tzar.
What followed after that was in general considered very fun 50-75 years.
Let us Point out one thing. 2/3 of the Napoleonic army in Russian Campaign were germans.
