I bought a Baofeng mini-HAM radio so I can listen for Happenings in my area and possibly cooridinate with my fellow boomers when SHTF. How the heck do I program this thing? I downloaded Chirp. Should I save all the NOAA/FRS/GMRS/MURS frequencies to the channel list as well as some local first responder frequencies, and just listen? Give me some tips.

Ok, really simple. Type in the numbers 140.000. press the search button around 7pm. After a couple mins, you'll usually run into a ham radio forum if you have a lot of repeaters in the area.
Ok, now drive a mile or two from your house. Every time some stupid boomer tries to talk say "frequency check call sign bfuv5r" Do this for about 20 mins and then drive home. Do this every day for a month, driving to different locations.
