REPLACE EVERYTHING YOU HAVE WITH MADE IN THE USA PRODUCTS! From now on, only buy products made in the USA or products made in developed countries where workers actually have rights. Try and replace everything you have that isn't made in the USA with made in the USA products. If enough people do this, we will make a huge impact on developing American manufacturing independence.
We need complete independence from manufacturing overseas as evident from this Coronavirus pandemic. Imagine going to war against China and all of the supply lies between the East Asian and the USA are cut off. We depend on East Asia to produce too much of our stuff from our textiles to our technology. We wouldn't be able to simply reopen our closed factories. We'd have to teach masses of workers how to create various types of clothes and electronics in order for them to manufacture them, and that could take years, especially in the case of electronics. Do your part, and boycott anything that's made in East Asia, especially China.
We have lost thousands of factories to East Asia. We couldn't simply reopen those factories and hire tons of workers and teach them what to do. Most of those closed factories have either ended up completely dilapidated, and a few of them converted to do other functions that don't involve manufacturing.
I don't know, but the shoes are made in the USA, and you're supporting American workers and helping to create American jobs when you buy made in the USA. American workers would be making a lot more money, and the unemployment rate would be lower if everything were manufactured in the USA.
Raise the fucking tariffs to the ceiling, elect a pro-Autarky president ffs
Sebastian Diaz
>Raise the fucking tariffs to the ceiling Trump is already talking about bringing back American manufacturing, so it's not unlikely that such a thing could happen.
>except Chinese I wouldn't buy anything from East Asia, with the exception of Japan, since they're highly militarized and would be able to defend against China. One of the first targets of China would be South-East Asia, which is where most of our stuff is produced. They would simply take all of the factories there, and they could use them to produce equipment for their military.

>god you people are stupid You contribute to increasing wealth inequality within the USA when you buy products that were made elsewhere, because the owners of American corporations profit more from (slave) labor overseas than you do. Wealth translates to power, so if you want the elites to have less power, keep your wealth circulating within the US among Americans. Also, we'd be screwed if we had a war with China.
>want basic bicycle >made in China $240 >made in USA $1800
Andrew Taylor
Yeah, yeah, I was just being a bit cheeky with that reply anyway.
Sadly there are some major issues with buying locally produced stuff though. For one prices are high so it's hard for many people to afford plus there's a ton of products that aren't produced locally anymore at all. You also need to consider that if you buy something that is "Made in USA" or "Made in Germany" or whatever it's often still quite likely to use parts or resources sourced from overseas.
It's just a fucking mess and calling it the Rube Goldberg economy is certainly fitting. I guess making an effort to buy locally produced stuff whenever possible is the best we can do for now. Scaling back consumerism in general should help with that.
Christian Bennett
It costs more, because American workers actually have rights, and since American workers aren't slaves who have no other options, we tend to have pride in our work and do a really good job. Those slaves in East Asia don't have any other option, no matter how much harder they work or how much more accurately they do their work, they will never make more than they already make, so they tend to do poorer jobs.

No. Watch American Factory. Americans are lazy stupid entitled scum.

Second hand my man, any local bike shop will be happy to fix one up if need be too.
Im down. In old times before leftist hysteria, the coubtry coukd gather around the president, whether or not he got your vote, for the good of the nation. But everything Trump says is apparently evil and racist so his push to have us all buy American is going to result in 80% of Americans following and 20%, the disgusting degenerates, purposefully disobeying Trump. At what point is it self-defence to slaughter leftists?
>For one prices are high so it's hard for many people to afford If your only option were to buy stuff made in Germany, products made in Germany would become cheaper, since companies would still have to sell their products and make money. Made in Germany would no longer mean that something is of higher quality, and therefore, demanding of a higher price tag.
>there's a ton of products that aren't produced locally anymore at all. There will always be things that you have to import, especially certain natural resources, but you should be able to manufacture virtually everything locally.
>it's often still quite likely to use parts or resources sourced from overseas. Major corporations must disclose where every part of their product comes from and where it's manufactured. The made in the USA shoes I got are only 70% made in the USA. (I forgot which parts are made elsewhere.) A few parts were manufactured overseas, but almost everything else was made in Boston, Massachusetts.
>Scaling back consumerism in general should help with that. Buy guns and knifes if you can. (Try to do it legally, first.) Learn combat, especially close quarters combat (martial arts). Learn how to garden and raise animals like chickens. Learn how to hunt. Learn how to survive in the wilderness. Learn HAM radio. Become completely self-sufficient and independent from society. Get a homestead away from most of civilization.

OP, I have been going on this board for almost a year and you absolutely win the prize for the most intelligent post ever. And no, that's not because all of the other posts are moronic in nature. You just get it and I applaud you. If our entire nation does this, we can blow China and East Asia back into the Stone Age.

Apple makes everything in China, but you can buy a lot of electronics and computer parts from Taiwan, Singapore, Korea, and Japan. Do everything you can to not support China.
Dylan Carter
Hell yea this is the real kinda change we should be focused on. Just bought a made in usa handgun and buckknife today, keeping my german cars cause they are kino af but everything else made in usa or bust has been my mantra for a while.

>Too much effort. A ton of excellent electronics companies are based in Taiwan. I'm pretty sure you could build a computer or two without having to buy a single component made in China, and it would also be a pretty badass computer at that.
>If your only option were to buy stuff made in Germany, products made in Germany would become cheaper Sure, that's the ideal but I was talking about the current state. And the current state of things just makes it hard to buy locally.
Angel Howard

Why are you leaving this responsibility on consumers when its the decision makers of firms who choose to place their resources and labor in China over the last like 20 years as if it was normal, you know what people should feel more conned by the big Corporations more than anything, Theyre the brilliant fucktard geniuses that said hey lets move everything to China and everything will work out, hang the Corporate Traitors instead of pretending like this is all the consumers fault
We need to take back control of our corporations, since they wouldn't exist in the first place if it weren't for American workers. We need to give them massive taxes for manufacturing things outside of the USA.
Levi Hall
It's not on the corporations, they do what the markets allow them to and the truth is this manufacturing drain happened because one of Bill Clinton's economic advisors was the head of the IMF and had shied for years to move polluting industries to poorer countries instead of having them face huge restrictions in developed nations. Clinton, Lawrence Summers and every other piece of shit who backed that plan deserve to die.
Noah Adams
I'm okay with boycotting products made in Communist China, but if a product is made in another country that isn't China, then I'll probably buy the product if I need to buy it. Same goes for media or entertainment, if an American company kowtows to Communist Chinese demands when making their products, then I don't really have to buy it, I'll skip on that piece of entertainment/art.
William Hall
Avoid buying anything made in East Asia, because one of China's first targets in WW3 will most likely be South-East Asia, which borders China for the most part. They'll just take all of the factories, and put them to use for China. I guarantee you a good amount of those factories would be converted to produce military equipment and supplies for China.
John Gomez
Well, I think I've heard that Communist China has been making the Asian nations near the country angry because of all the actions they've been making in the South China Sea, trying to claim the area for themselves to gain access to the resources like oil in that region. World War 3 hasn't started yet, and if it does, Communist China would have to go up against a lot of nations if they want to invade other countries.
Jace Wright
if americans started making stuff that is usually imported from china, and sold it for a competive price companies would stock it.

>World War 3 hasn't started yet, and if it does, Communist China would have to go up against a lot of nations if they want to invade other countries. China already has undisputed dominance in the South China Sea. They would cutoff the world's access to South-East Asia initially, and it wouldn't be too difficult for them to outright annex South-East Asian countries after that, since they have highly inferior militaries when compared to China's military.
