India is already an enemy of China and more closely allied to America. Russia will back whoever looks more likely to win and stab the other side in the back like they always do. China and Russia have a long history of being enemies too.

The problem with the Chinese is that they're following the same playbook as the Soviets. They're trying to modernize their military which, on the surface, is great... Until they realize that they have to keep maintaining it... And invest in original R&D... And protect their R&D from the same espionage that they conduct...
The same thing with their intervention in foreign affairs. It's all fun and games until nations really don't start liking you. Modern China doesn't have a huge negative rep except for in a few countries but the more intervention, the more negative rep... How are they going to handle that? Can they handle that?
America has a ton of problems but China keeps thinking that it can paper over their problems with oppression & actionism. That's just not going to cut it if they truly want to be a dominant superpower.
