Almost all the arabs that lived in current Israel before 1948 are still in their communities. The only ethnic cleansing happened in Jaffo south of Tel Aviv, they gtfo to Gaza. Most of the arabs were in Jerusalem and the north, and they are still there.

The worst part is that in the 1948-1949 war jews lost in the east, that means the west bank and what you now call "east jerusalem", which used to simply be "jerusalem" until it was split in the war. The army decided it could not defend everywhere and focused on the coast, the string of cities from Gaza to Lebanon. So jews were kicked out of east jerusalem and Hebron, while arabs were kicked out of Jaffo.
