Any member of the lodge they belong to, including temples and and grand lodges, have the right to vote on as well as look at the books of the lodge. I am a mason. And yeah, they're mostly boomers. Average age of a mason is 77 in the US. It's dying, and that's pretty much been the number one concern from the grand lodges I've visited. It always gets brought up (especially to me because I'm much younger -20s) of how can they attract younger members to the group, to pass the torch. I tell them the same thing every time, that there really isnt much you can do, younger guys are definitely seeking something, but as lodges are already filled with old guys and it's not like the old days where masons actually were every second judge and men of renown in their communities. What I think will happen, is that in some young men's lives, they will search for something, end up drawn to masonry, and will take the lessons to heart and actually try to improve themselves and better their local communities.
