Depends on how you define shithole. Yes, a lot of the Eastern European countries are poor, but they are pretty comfy to live in. A lot less cucked and bluepilled than countries like Sweden and the UK.
I have lived in Gdansk in Poland for a few months (working remotely) and I really enjoyed it. People were very polite, friendly and civilized.

It's true, but we world is living in debt world so it doesn't matter as much. We are still not too padly in debt compared to other nations. Debt wise we are doing so-so and sure it should be our priority to reduce debt, but to do it faster infrastructure, industry and innovation investments are necessary. Thus we are in precarious balancing act position. We also have demographic problem among others. It's a difficult balancing act but so far we have done relatively well.
