I liked what he was doing with the Portal but this stuff makes me think he's a crank and a pseud. He and Thiel are mostly correct with their critique of physics, science, and academia. But Weinstein keeps wheeling out big ambitious challenges without much focus or follow through - first his brother's story, now this. I think he'd do better if he focused on hammering one or two campaigns over time using his platform - like helping to elevate a network of scientific and cultural publications driven by meritocratic, competent editors who care about progress and science rather than group think. Instead he just seems to blurt out these unpolished stories and ideas and expect others to refine them. It's a weird look.

his original claim to fame was being fired by students opposing racism at a college which had gone crazy with anti racism stuff a few years back.
