Great Great Grampa was a famous Cowboy

So I was unsure how to put the subject but holy damn!
My great great Grandpa didn't really raise my Grandpa (he was always on the road. My gramps literally saw him maybe 3 times in his life when he was older, oldest being 15 I believe) and so.. I never really knew

But i just started researching and HOLY SHIT it's like.. Music out of Fallout:New Vegas. I really genuinely like it and it's just really.. cool.

Makes sense where I got my naturally born singing voice.
Wish there were more stories of my great great Grandpa.. His mom died when she was 26 and he was 2.. Afterwards it is my understanding he was raised home to home until he made his way to Pittsburgh and worked as a boatsman until being drafted in WW2..
Lo and behold his song 'Detour' in 1945 was incredibly popular! He worked with people like Gene Autry and Bob Hope, Clint Eastwood - shows like Gunsmoke and Bonanza..

Someone named Roy Alcruff fucked him over from my understanding. Oh well.. But.

Not too many people get to listen to their great great Grandpa...

LOOK AT MY GREAT GREAT GRANDPA YOU SHITS

No one? Nothing? Awwww

Good for you, dude. Try to honor your Great-Grandpa‘s and Grandpa’s memories by being better than both of them. Make them proud.

THis

I can try but they are probably looking down on me with shame

Not just for myself but my family.. Including my Grandpa. Granted I can understand my Grandpa's feelings towards his dad. He only saw him a few times. An adopted Dad was more of a Dad than this guy, but.. I cant feel but have a sense of similarity with this man. He obviously didnt have such a good life.. He was on his own at a young age. A Man of confidence.. I think. I am unsure because I didnt know him!

But I am most assuredly related.. His son was my Grandpa. His youngest son..

I always wanted to do my part in the World. Help bring Greatness.. I am unsure how to do that.. But maybe one day I can achieve something he will look on me with pride..

I will never have offspring of my own so I guess it's the end of our bloodline with me.. Makes me sorta' sad.. Especially seeing as my great great Grandpa's family was in West Virginia / America since early 1800s maybe sooner

And he is buried in West Virginia now.. And I was born and raised in fucking California.. I always hated the people of the West coast. Geographically beautiful.. The people dilute things however..

GODDAMN that big lipped fuck - I had to sift through so many videos to find my G+G+ Grandpa's videos... 80% were of this motherfucker

Excellent advice.

Have I been saying Great Great... Fuck am I retarded.

He was my GREAT Grandpa

Your grandpa was gay.

Sorry for the plebbit spacing & thanks for reading my blog

My Grandpa had a kid and has been married since he was 17

And you, Sir - are a crossdressing heroin-addicted pig-fucker

It's never easy finding out your grandpa was a nigger.

Roy Acuff was a real famous guy. I found this, it is probably the story.

>The song (Coast 2016) became a hillbilly standard and was also recorded by Wesley Tuttle and Spade Cooley. In 1946, Walker joined the Grand Ole Opry and when Roy Acuff took time out from the show, he was given the un-enviable task of emcee. He made such a good job of it that Acuff was forced to return promptly to try and re-secure his position. Thus Walker lost his spot on the Opry and moved over to the Wheeling Jamboree and Midwestern Hayride shows, before returning to California at the end of the decade.

... Fuckin' Skull Lake...

Aight imma head out.

Jimmy Walker moved to California, that's probably how your grandfather was born

Yeah. Read that too.. Later on Walker tries to record in 1960s.. But Alcruff sorta screwed him over so bad he just retired.

That & my great grandma left him.. I feel bad for him.
I wish I could have known him..

Also lo and behold my Grandpa has a brother and they refuse to speak to each other and hate each other....but with some research I found his name and number.

Should I try to contact him?

My mom told me he laughed at her when she said she was pregnant & said "ironic he'll be born a bastard" .. Which might be mean. Maybe nihilistic..but.. Wasn't my grandpa's dad born a Bastard, too? I wonder..

...thanks for stopping by?

Very cool user, America doesn't make like men like him anymore

Nope. He went BACK. Grampa was born in 50s..his brother 6 years earlier

Realize that.. It's sad.
It makes me long for those days..

Why don't that make songs that tell a story anymore? The only lyrics worth listening to.

Right? The Legend of Skull Lake is my current jam. Listened to it at LEAST 10 times today.. I mean, it's my fucking great Grandpa why wouldn't I listen to it 10 times?
Wish I could find more but all I have are about 10 songs of his..

Is Lee your dad or uncle?

i'm listening. i've been listening to hank williams recently.

"Where the White Man's life had little worth.." Gee, Great Grandpa.. Are you talking about modern California? Haha..

Lee is my Grandpa's brother. Never spoke to him. Ever. I want to. He's probably gonna be like "wtf" when he realizes his brothers grandson wants to know about his dad

Do it, he posted on that website, I bet he'll be glad to hear from you

Been listening to a lot of old music lately too, old Italian pop songs, old jazz songs, good stuff that has a melody and a sense of humor and happiness. So much modern music is ugly and depressing. You should learn guitar and start singing, cover your great grandpa's stuff.

Sad to hear about your dad not seeing your gand dad for holllywood. I know the mother of other famous cowboys. Really nice lady. All thats left is old tapes. Show business never looks out for you. You basically become a taskrabbit for what ever they want and toss you out like nothing ever happened.

This. If you really do have a good voice... Become a country singer. Most based profession in America probably

How was he a cowboy exactly? From what I gather he was some faux cowboy faggot.

Attached: Ops Grandpa.jpg (683x1024, 193.84K)

Possibly. But he hates his brother my Grandpa from my understanding.. They haven't spoken for years.. Literally last they spoke was, like.. 10 years ago. And even then it was just a phonecall where he hadn't seen or talked to him for yeaaaars before that.. In my grandpas words "the circle was broken".. That makes me fucking sad, man.
Yeah. Funny enough my Grandpa owns an electrical business. He still goes on calls and works physically every dah at age 67.. I digress, but, he worked at Mrs.Autry's home not long ago and she told him she knew of and remember my grandpas dad.. Sorta cool.. But it seems Hollywood even then was fucked up.

I dunno about country.. I don't have that twang.. I mean. I have tried and it honestly doesnt sound so bad, somewhat subtle.. But.. The 2nd song 'satisfied' of his on the first link from OP I began practicing.. I dunno. Something about it is nice.

When I was 13 MTV producers wanted to sign me. They wanted me to be like Justin Timberlake quote en quote however... And I said fuck no
So now here I am

A "sophisticated Hillbilly", if you will.
And please. That's better than your great Grandparents who had to use their asses as cock holsters to make a few crusts of bread - fuck off

not your blog faggot d. king
youtube.com/watch?v=OvJZamYyif8

Guitar huh? It's not too late?
I wouldnt mind singing some of his songs.. Theyre quite nice

Ain't it funny because that's a burner account and not my real name

There's no adventure left. There's no untamed land and mysterious people over the hill. Everything's getting closer together and more homogenized. No stone has been left unturned, and communities are entirely reliant on the modern grid to survive, taking out all danger or uncertainty. Highways are the new rivers, with those not connected to them and the commerce and goods to/from the city have no hope of surviving, or there's always a better option - namely, the city itself.

And most of all, that heroic and daring spirit that built the country (the West in particular) and the people who lived it are squelched and out of place in the modern world. Their tales are forgotten while their descendants wither away, not welcome in the new society being built. The nation has no purpose, no spirit, no conviction. Once we get our soul back then maybe we can salvage what was lost, but the will simply isn't there

its pretty cool OP

Never too late, best way to learn is to imitate and rip off those better than you.

you have achieved nothing in life and now cling to some shitty relative's, who lived a 100 years ago, achievements

Wholesome thread! Thanks for the post. Good stuff.

Our World is dying. Granted. Death gives way toward rebirth.
I always wondered to myself if Atlantis was truly a real society and history has been misconstrued - what was the World like before it too, was remade? Maybe we are nearing that time again soon where the World can be remade.
So Individuals with the spirit you just spoke of can act.. I can only hope.

Cynicism says otherwise however..

You have the gayest fucking insults. Did grandpapa pass his "curse" down to you?

Ok memeflag, and your great grandparents ate shit

I give two fucks - my destiny lies beyond redundancy. I just thought it was great my great Grandfather who I never knew or met was someone popular.. And I JUST found it out today as I did my own research.

So fuck yourself with your family's dirt-cheap cremation urn and die from coronavirus pls...or ebola if that's still a thing

True. I could probably pull off his twang.. But my voice is higher pitched. Well. You inspired me.. Maybe one day I'll audition through Americas got Talent or some shit with his song lul
Thanks Anons

Probably but you know what they say about curses - you can utilize their energy and manifest destiny - so again - get fucked and die

Are you satisfied? Really, satisfied?
If you aren't - then I'll be on my way.

Good words to live by for lots of scenarios.

OP here, captcha is fucking with me.. Always felt like a Cowboy, too. Hard to explain. Always thought it was from my Dad's side from Pennsylvania/Georgia but nope. Now it sorta makes sense. It was in my blood.

I wonder if I have any personality traits like him.. Fuck it. I'm calling Lee tomorrow

>you can utilize their energy and manifest destiny
so you plan to pass it down to your son too? Sickening.

I said I'm not procreating. I can't. If I'm ever a millionaire (which I hope to be before age 35) I will adopt however.

This is some Epstein type shit. You ever thought about seeking help for these urges?

youtube.com/watch?v=JG8XCQI3bB4

SWAAAAAMP COUNTRY - WHERE A MAN CAN FIND HIS WORTH

>memeflag
> South Africa
Makes sense

Dude. Shut the fuck up why don't you? goddamn trolls

if you must know the only urge I have for adoption would be to mentor a young child as Aristotle did toward Alexander. And if I could help at least one life to help other lives in a PRAGMATIC manner? Then I will have not wasted my life

I mean let's be honest South Africa is practically a meme in itself

Listen to the podcast “Cocaine and Rhinestones.” Tells some great stories of how fucked up the old country and western music system was. Also, watch the PBS documentary “Country Music.” You might see your relative mentioned.

>if you must know the only urge I have for adoption would be to mentor a young child as Aristotle did toward Alexander
I was joking before but now I'm starting to think you might actually be a diddler

Hm... ok, will do
Goddamn you're just something else - i am trying to have a wholesome thread about my great grandpa and possibly get some info and you keep making me wanna chainsmoke my cigarrettes - stop it - i'm 21 and i only have so much money for cigarettes you bitch lul

Just tell me who touched you and I'll fuck off. You did this to you?

this is the last reply you get from me only because it's trivial at this point
