Do any of you guys regret joining the military? When did you wake up to what these wars were really about? Has the service altered your political beliefs in any way?

No, I don't regret it. There's a lot of bullshit, and of course the military is a tool wielded by mostly unworthy masters for nefarious purposes. But the benefits I get from my service mean that I get to go to school full-time without having to work and have no student debt when I graduate. Coronachan hasn't affected my income one bit.

I joined the Navy, it was the best decision of my life. They actually looked out for me, and the friends I made while I was in are the only people who ever cared about me.

They recruit from my state campus too. I talked to several as well as the people who build and maintain ships for the navy and similar shit. I'm just bummed I wasted so much youth in exchange for money for a future no becky wants with me I never even really liked my major that much in the first place.

I might still join but being an officer just seems more like a desk job than anything, I might just do the nat guard instead.

I heard they are finicky with paying for your education, but the people i hear it from arent very smart so take it for what its worth. loans are bad but my school costs next to nothing for me from scholarships. I just really dont care for the work and dont have any friends here because its either neolib, weebs, or barstool fans. I get along best with foreign and older students. They arent all bad but 90% fall into one of those categories I just said.

I’m in the Army, and I think I got a pretty sweet deal, I have a cushy mos I get a good salary with literally 0 living expenses and Im already halfway done with my contract, in 2 years I’ll be in college finishing up my bachelors degree with no debt and some money to my name

I regret the jobs I picked but not some of the people I've met. Never deployed but even when I was supposed to I would have been doing jack shit to begin with since my term was about to be up.

Currently serving. I don't give a shit what the wars are about, I work in a laboratory while my school is paid for. It's an easy way to coast through life if you can put up with the bullshit.

We don't have a military per se since we are neutral and some other bullshit, but this is just political nonsense. The "Security" forces of my country are as hardly trained as any other units in the world. We don't have the numbers but we focus on quality.

All that being said, you gotta deal with total retards on a daily basis and most of the time you can't say shit about it since everybody has a higher hierarchy of some sort except you.

Still no regrets, it helped me escalate a little in my life and I can say I was well trained. I might not know gorilla warfare or some other fancy shit but I know my way with a gun and that's far more than 80% of my countrymen will ever know.

I was woke to what the wars were really about before I joined. I'm not some retard who joined "for a cause". Anyone who joins any military for reasons like that is a fucking idiot. I'm like any intelligent person: I joined for the personal benefits. Easy job, social status, free college degree, pretty uniform to impress girls with, leaving my shitty hometown, combat pay, learning about life through a microcosm of it, being hardened from stress, etc. I don't regret it. I shudder to think where I'd be if I hadn't joined. The military is the last rites of passage into manhood that the western world has (aside from frats, maybe), and going to war is a man's birthright. I'm glad I got mine in. I feel bad for all the tacticool painballers, gun fetishists, and revolutionary/militia/boogaloo LARPers. They're all so transparent. Boys trying to be men. I got to do the real thing, and it's out of my system. As for the third question, the service made me more conservative. I was liberal going in, but dealing with freeloaders, lazy asses, worthless niggers, powertripping middle-management, etc., I became much more of a keep-your-hands-off-my-shit, earn-your-own-way type person.

Damn. I’m pretty oaky with school. I manage to maintain a 3.0 or higher in general. Army seems to have a form of brotherhood especially when people serve together.

Saddam was actually the best leader for Iraq. He was the only guy crazy enough to maintain the balance of power there. Those people are literal niggers. Most Afghans have more positive things to say about the Soviets than the US cause before 1992, Afghanistan use to have a somewhat decent government and army. No, I don’t regret joining the military, but I was in an accident in training with a helo, wrecked my back and my legs. Command didn’t give a fuck, I didn’t get any of the training on how to wear a suit, they just denied me my extension after ten years and sent me on my way. If I had to describe myself now it would be ‘listless’.
