I have been thinking about consciousness and how it seems to be conspicuously avoided by academics.
Why is it that we can map the synapses of the brain to a degree that we could add an electrical signal to a specific area of your cerebral cortex to induce a reflex to make your arm shoot out but we cannot begin to explain the energy type (for lack of a better word) that consciousness derives from?
Why is subjective experience dismissed by so called "scholarly" individuals when it comes to consciousness and it's role in the formation of our perception of reality?
Scientists are afraid to admit that consciousness isn’t physical and can’t be explained by science. The only reason we know parts of the brain are “responsible” for certain things is because those parts of the brain fire up when those things are done, and people who have damage in those parts of their brains aren’t able to do those things. Scientists really don’t understand the brain. And all of psychology is basically pseudoscience and only has value where it uses biology.
Luke Sullivan
Something I noticed about consciousness, people with it can do art that is very odd. Not creative like new colors or new designs but the stuff that scares people because they don't understand it. I myself experienced this when I got into drawing, the more free will the less of it is understood by others.
Go and look at art done in odd places, they tend to not want publicity. Their art forces you to think deeply, you can see alot of this in anime art.
Jace Butler
It's not avoided by academics at all, the hard problem of consciousness is one of the most hotly debated topics in the history of analytic philosophy.
Don't be fooled by the post modernists trying to keep you into an infinite state of pondering while the answers are in front of your eyes.
Ian Hernandez
>What is consciousness It's a reification of the adjective, "conscious". Basically, conscious with the abstracting suffix "-ness" appended to it.
Lucas Brooks
They dont know what it is.
Some speculate it is architectual and others that it is algorythmic.
Jeremiah Brooks
Theyve deduced a component of conciousness.
They have missed others. Its a solvable problem, though i think they are trying to strongarm and bruteforce a solution which will not be optimized. Very labor intensive and compute intensive. Energy inneficient.
Thats the state of the art right now. They have the hardware, but no one with the accumen to design the software.
The person who solves that is the worlds first trillionaire. Im sure he’ll tell you on the internet for free.

>religitards Better than believing you came from a monkey by random chance from an explosion that happened from nothing for no reason and can't be reproduced or proven but it's okay because everyone ELSE is a retard...
It's the brain functioning. If we transfer everything to an exceptional analogue via a continuous process, we should be able to transfer consciousness from one body to another. It'll take more advanced technology than we currently have, but should be physically possible to do.
The key threshold will result in individuals controlling two bodies with one consciousness. At that point, shutting off a body isn't anyone's death.
We may want to start implementing some kind of armoring protocols to limit external sources of interference to cognition, as well.

I did not falsely accuse in accusing people of molesting me.

>I cannot into science
Listen moron. Evolution is more then just >lol we came from monkey
It is the glory of struggle. White folk were refined in the frosts of mother Europa during the ice age, as we fought and eliminated the Neanderthal. We survived plagues and wars and famines. We discovered agriculture and built civilizations from the ground up. We had the world in our hand at one point. There is nothing ridiculous about evolution. We are not monkeys. Monkeys and us shared a common ancestor and diverged hundreds of thousands of years ago. Stop thinking of evolution as a straight line and think of it as a tree with its branches. As for the big bang, it is provable. Cosmic radiation has pointed the way to it. >b-b-but something cant come from nothing!! Same to your god. What caused it to come into being? How did its consciousness form?
Chase Anderson
>It is the glory of struggle lol yes very glorious to view yourself as a monkey rising to manhood rather than a man sculpted by God himself. >What caused it to come into being? How did its consciousness form? plato.stanford.edu/entries/ontological-arguments/ Welcome to Philosophy 101
>I AM that I AM (YHVH) >Before Abraham was, I AM >“I think, therefore I am”
>In the beginning was the Word (Logos), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God >He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. >He came unto his own, and his own received him not. >But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: >Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. >And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
>With Reason (Logos), not with hands, did the World-Maker make the universal World >The Mind, O Tat, is of God’s very essence [...] The Mind, then, is not separated off from God’s essentiality, but is united unto it, as light to sun. > As many then as understood the Herald’s tidings and doused themselves in Mind, became partakers in the Gnosis; and when they had “received the Mind” they were made “perfect men.”
God made himself duh All beings are small emanations of God

>What is consciousness 10/10 book on the subject: The User Illusion: Cutting Consciousness Down to Size by Tor Norretranders.

Alan Watts has some interesting lectures on the topic
Isaac Sanders
There is only one conciousness, experiencing this instance and timeline of earth. Only one mind is cabable of making decisions. Everyone else is an NPC reacting to external stimuli.
I am that person, that soul, the conciousness.

The brain is like a receiver for the soul or the mind or whatever you want to call it. Consciousness does not come from the brain but is merely interpreted by it. Hence if the brain is damaged so is the signal scrambled. Consciousness is not, as materialists would have us believe, dependent on matter. What we see is not all that is.
Carter Turner
Made himself from what? He had to have a conscious mind to decide to make himself, to know how to make himself. Where did this mind come from? What caused it to come into being?
You are an absolute brainlet. I have taken philosophy and guess what? There are just as many arguments against the existence of a god as there are for it.
Nolan Carter
> explained by science Then science needs to broaden its horizons.
>There are just as many arguments against the existence of a god as there are for it. lol the entire point of the arguments is that they are logic arguments. To go against them is to go against logic itself.
Same with deep memory. Everything is etched into the soul then recalled into the brain.
Owen Garcia
And the arguments against the existence of a deity are not logical?
Kayden Davis
Yes. But I would like to add that this is not an argument for the Christian person God's existence but rather the existence of God as a concept itself.
>you can see alot of this in anime art >anime art Kys
Noah Davis
because ORGANIC PORTALS have a Dawkins-tier view of consciousness and think it can eventually be found and defined through sufficiently complex causality of matter interacting with itself to form a thinking machine, for lack of a better term. Something that takes input and produces output relatively independently (compared to say a pre-programmed chess computer).
The internal silent observer that makes you the individual, contrary to pop opinion isn't the personality but imperceptible awareness, that is consciousness.
Jacob King
Give examples?
Nathan Ward
Because logically you would begin to read the Bible, and then history such as Josephus. Logically Everything around you was created. If there was an all powerful other dimensional entity, and it wanted true companionship, yet it was all knowing and wanted to retain the "Free will" effect to separate the wheat from the chaff... would he not interact with humans throughout history to make points IN the texts as well as future predictions (Everything Yeshua said came true) Revelation happened in AD 70 and the Jews who were actually ones that could "see to believe" STILL denied him and and had him killed. ITs the coolest most infinite D chess story that quite literally redpills anyone reading it that way on the kikes throughout history and it shows that the kikes in power are LARPING. Its amazing. "Science bois" are pussies and too scared to read in to it that they might be wrong- thus making them internally reflect.
Why does worldy shit matter? Do i acknoledge things feel good and gravitate towards my own vices? Yes, however by being conscious of this AND our real life history, i know none of this petty shit matters. You can never make me chronically depressed.
Ethan Hill
>avoided then you did no fucking research at all, faggot and trying to "think" about it is just a fucking joke
This, as a neuroscience researcher I can confirm. This is a very hotly discussed and looked into topic.
Michael Reed
Science would need to consider all these stories of people dying and then waking up living again, but the world has changed around them in subtle ways.
Chase Lewis
How can we explain consciousness in a fake world ?
Adam Sanders
Except there is zero proof that consciousness comes from neurons.
>Scientists are afraid to admit that consciousness isn’t physical and can’t be explained by science. Actually generally speaking science isn't afraid to admit that it doesn't properly understand something. It's religion that constantly asserts that it has a comprehensive understanding of reality.
James Cruz
lmao says the religitard
how does it feel to be a sheeple?
Matthew Parker
>fuck the evidence >I don't understand something so muh imaginary friend did it
Religion is the glue that holds the world together. Anyone who doesn't see this does not understand even the most basic of politics. You sir (or foxkin or w/e the fuck you people are) need to get off our board of people who realize the inseparable relationship between Yas Forums and religion.

ait here comes the argument: god doesn't exist. your only evidence is being indoctrinated by your shitty parents and a book written by ancient hebrew dudes
Jaxon Rogers
>Evidence Macro Evolution still has yet to be observed or reproduced. >muh imaginary friend Already said I was arguing for the existence of God as a concept and not God as a personal deity.
mmm yes world government will fall when religion ded
thank you for insightful commentary

>scientists don't understand thing >that means god!!! Hmm, where have i heardthis before...
Jacob Taylor
>your only evidence is being indoctrinated by your shitty parents and a book written by ancient hebrew dudes Try reading , I know English can be a hard language sometimes but it actually helps to understand things better when you do.
>Hmm, where have i heardthis before... the tard jar
Noah Nelson
This SHOULD be obvious. It is why your satan worshiping puppet masters have done everything in their power to achieve one simple goal over the last 100 years... remove, subvert, or otherwise destroy the Christian faith of the American people.
You have to be an absolute brainless to not see that as their number 1 primary objective, and they're quite good at it.
Now ask yourself WHY is this their objective?
Nathaniel Mitchell
what do you want me to read? i can't be bothered to click on link
