Yes, in that election Bernie did not get the nomination. But he was defeated by a relatively narrow margin by a far, far more powerful candidate, that being Hillary Clinton. Bernie came out of nowhere to give Hillary a major challenge and she (and the DNC) had to pull out every stop in order to stop him. They rigged debates against him, the mainstream media shilled for Hillary relentlessly, and he still took home millions of votes. The fact that Bernie got as far as he did was insane, and is only overshadowed by the fact that Trump did the same thing on the other side but actually won both the primary and then the general. That's a pretty big victory for the American far left imo.
