if you're doing regular pan cooking or frying, salted butter is good, or for potatoes and stuff, if you're making bread or pastries or something you use unsalted, it helps with the consistency and lets you control how much salt you're 'actually' putting in when a recipe asks for a quarter or half teaspoon of salt.

They already ruined it when they removed the tit exploit.

So you can control the amount of salt in recipes. Different butters have different salt contents, and most recipes are tightly balanced between table salt/baking soda/baking powder.
