My drug dealer buddy has been shipping all his product through USPS for years. USPS is an actual quality delivery service and does all sorts of valuable shit you don't necessarily think about.
The Republican bill requires the USPS to fund a 30yr pension in only 10 years for every worker. The pace of the pension funding is absolutely bonkers and out of line with ANY industry let alone something with profit margins as thin as shipping. The idea was to bankrupt the USPS in the Bush years and privatize it but they adapted technology so quickly and effectively that it added another 15 years of life into the organization even with the massive pension burden on them.
